Registered Nurse you'll play a key role in delivering exceptional patient care while supporting a team of urology providers. From performing in-office procedures to educating patients and managing clinical staff, you'll help ensure every patient receives timely, high-quality patient centered care.
The Registered nurse in this position will enhance clinical and patient experience by focusing on outbound post-discharge calls and inbound post-op clinical triage. The nurse assesses surgical recovery, identifies red-flag symptoms, and coordinates with urology providers. It bridges the gap between the surgical floor/hospital setting and the patient's home, ensuring optimal recovery.
Key Responsibilities:- Post-Operative Telephone Follow-Up: Call patients within 24-72 hours post-discharge to check on their recovery progress.
- Symptom Triage: Assess specific urological recovery metrics, such as pain levels, catheter patency (checking for blockages or leaks), bleeding/drainage, voiding patterns, and medication side effects.
- Discharge Reinforcement: Review post-operative instructions with the patient and family, including wound care, activity restrictions, and medication schedules.
- Clinical Escalation: Use nursing judgment and established protocols to determine the urgency of reported symptoms. Route urgent concerns to the urologist, schedule immediate clinic visits, or direct the patient to the Emergency Room if needed.
- Documentation: Accurately and thoroughly document all patient interactions, assessments, and advice given into the Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system.
- Patient Education: Provide support on managing urinary catheters, stents, and pelvic floor exercises as directed by the physician
This is a full-time, Monday - Friday, day shift position. This practice is located at 60-10 Main Street, Flushing NY, 11355.Preferred Criteria:Required Qualifications:- Bachelor's degree in nursing (BSN)
- New York State RN License
- BCLS Certification (American Heart Association)
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
Salary Range:$114,500-$166,000/Annual
