Job Description:

Job Title: Nurse Administrator, Evening

Workplace: Central State Hospital, Milledgeville

Shift: 7:30am-4:30pm

Job Summary:

Manages, plans, organizes, and directs all nursing activities in assigned facility. Responsible for the quality of nursing care delivered in hospitals, public health facilities, and community-based programs. Directs subordinate supervisors and staff.

  • Supervises nursing staff and provides clinical guidance, support, and direction to nurses and other nursing personnel.
  • Leads and participates in process improvement initiatives, including conducting audits, analyzing findings, and implementing recommendations to improve the quality of patient care and nursing services.
  • Collaborates with interdisciplinary Treatment Teams to support effective client care and treatment outcomes.
  • Provides education and guidance to clients and staff regarding nursing practices, treatment, and related healthcare needs.
  • Assists with nursing administration and management responsibilities during the evening shift.
  • May occasionally provide direct patient care on inpatient units in the capacity of a Registered Nurse (RN), in addition to administrative and supervisory responsibilities.


Preferred Skills/Qualifications:
  • A current license to practice as a registered professional nurse.
  • Two (2) years supervisory experience
  • Bachelor of Nursing Degree.

Minimum Qualifications:
Master's degree in nursing, nursing administration, public health or directly related field from an accredited college or university and (12) months in an administrative or supervisory capacity and current Georgia license as a Registered Professional Nurse; or Bachelor's degree in nursing from an accredited college or university and (48) months of experience as Registered Nurse, (24) months years of which in an administrative or supervisory capacity and current Georgia license as a Registered Professional Nurse; or (96) months of experience as a Registered Nurse, (24) months of which in an environment related to the area of assignment, (36) months of which as a supervisor and current Georgia license as a Registered Professional Nurse.
