Nuclear Medicine Technologist

Four days a week / Eight hour days / Rotating Weekends / No call or holidays

Akron City campus

Summary:
Prepares and administers radionuclides to patients and performs scans and procedures. Ensures that all aspects of patients' records and relaxed documentation are processed properly to initiate procedure results in a timely manner. Accurately records data for patient chart, patient dose chart, disposition sheets, and calibration books.

Formal Education Required:
- Graduate of an A.M.A. approved school of Radiologic Technology, AND/OR
- Graduate of an A.M.A. approved school of Nuclear Medicine Technology.
- Registered as Nuclear Medicine Technologist by American Registry of Radiologic Technologists AND/OR
- Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board and the State of Ohio.

Other Skills, Competencies and Qualifications:
- Ability to administer intravenous injections of radioisotopes, properly position patients, and operate scintillation equipment.
- Ability to communicate verbally with patients, physicians and other hospital employees.
- Analytical ability sufficient to use mathematic formulas to calculate amounts of radioactivity to be injected and compute laboratory results.
- Ability to utilize computer systems and file system to facilitate patient record management as directed by Supervisory Staff.
- Ability to initiate CPR (CPR certification).
- Population Specific Competency: Ability to effectively interact with populations of patients/customers with an understanding of their needs for self-respect and dignity.

$38.68/hr - $46.42/hr
The salary range on this job posting/advertising is base salary exclusive of any bonuses or differentials. Many factors, such as years of relevant experience and geographical location are considered when determining the starting rate of pay.
