Full Job Description
Nature of Duties:

The Nuclear Medicine Technologist performs diagnostic imaging using radionuclides to assist in patient diagnosis or treatment. They ensure high-quality images for licensed practitioners, provide patient care, and follow medical ethics to complete procedures successfully.

Qualifications:
  1. Licensed by the IL State Radiologic Technology Board of Examiners.
  2. Registered by ARRT and/or NMTCB.
  3. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  4. Strong communication skills.

Specific Duties:
  1. Review and document patient history for procedure relevance.
  2. Prepare and instruct patients to minimize anxiety and ensure cooperation.
  3. Administer radiopharmaceuticals/medications per practitioner orders during procedures.
  4. Operate imaging and radiation detection equipment to perform procedures.
  5. Position patients for optimal imaging and immobilize as needed.
  6. Apply radiation safety to minimize exposure to patient and staff.
  7. Evaluate and ensure technical quality of images.
  8. Address physical and emotional patient needs during procedures.
  9. Perform venipunctures and provide BLS when necessary.
  10. Assist in staffing other clinics and departments as needed.
  11. Perform other duties to support CIS's mission and patient care philosophy.

Compensation: Starting pay will be $42.7500. Will commensurate with experience.
