Nuclear Facility Safety Engineer opportunity in
Oak Ridge, TN at the
Y-12 National Security Complex.
Description:The Nuclear Facility Safety Engineer will provide nuclear facility safety technical support services for the management of U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) nuclear facilities at the Y-12 National Security Complex in accordance with 10 CFR 830 Subpart B and applicable standards such as DOE-STD-3009-94 and DOE-STD-[redacted]. Responsibilities will also include training and mentoring less experienced Facility Safety Engineers.
Qualifications:- BS Degree plus 15 or more years of direct experience with 10 or more years of DOE-specific experience Nuclear/Safety Analysis Engineering.
- Experience and background to serve as a Lead Facility Safety Engineer in either 9212 or 9215 Complexes.
- Familiarity with technical issues raised by the United States Defense Nuclear Facility Safety Board pertaining to DOE nuclear facilities.
- Demonstrated experience in the hazard identification, hazard screening, and hazard evaluation process; the accident and consequence analysis process; the selection of engineered and/or administrative controls credited for the prevention or mitigation of postulated accidents; and the documentation of the results of these processes in safety analysis reports, documented safety analyses, and technical safety requirements.
