The Opportunity: Northern Maintenance ElectricianFull-Time permanent bargaining unit position, based in Northern Yukon (Mayo or Dawson)
Compensation: Level 8: $46.83-$55.93 per hour plus a Northern Allowance and Location Allowance Package.
As a key member of the Electrical Maintenance team, you will:
- Perform journey-level electrical work to install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair generation equipment, substations, switchgear, and auxiliary systems - ensuring safe and reliable operation.
- Support SCADA, control, communications, and telecommunication systems, completing all work and documentation in accordance with the Canadian Electrical Code and Yukon Energy policies and procedures.
- Conduct inspections, testing, and preventative maintenance, identifying issues and recommending solutions to maintain system performance and reliability.
- Respond to system disturbances and operational needs, assisting with restoration activities and acting as an on-site resource for emergency and maintenance support.
What you need to succeed: - Journeyed Power Systems Electrician or journeyed Electrician with several years previous related experience.
- Knowledge of Windows based computer software applications, including manufacturing specific software.
- Experience with EAM/CMMS programs.
- Experience with Management of Change processes.
- Certification in WHIMS, TDG and rigging and hoisting.
- Strong client service orientation with good interpersonal skills.
- A proven track record and commitment to safe procedures and encouraging a safe work environment.
- Proven troubleshooting skills.
- A valid class-5 driver's license.
- A valid First Aid certificate.
- Ability to work in a team and cross-cultural environment.
Compensation: Level 8: $46.83-$55.93 per hour plus a Northern Allowance and Location Allowance Package.
