North America Markets & Strategy Manager - Grid Technologies A Snapshot of Your Day
This role supports Siemens Energy's North America Markets & Strategy agenda with a primary focus on Business Area priorities, investments, partnerships, and execution. This role does not own Business Area strategy development; strategy ownership remains with the respective global and regional Business Area organizations. The role serves as a North America integrator and implementation leader, working in close collaboration with global and regional Business Area strategy, business, and sales teams to accelerate execution of approved strategic priorities.
How You'll Make an Impact
You will help translate approved Business Area priorities into results in North America through implementation leadership, stakeholder alignment, business development support, and partnership advancement in collaboration with global and regional Business Area leadership.
• Support GT strategic priorities, projects, investment strategies, and business development opportunities in North America, while preserving flexibility to support broader Markets & Strategy priorities as business needs evolve. All activities are performed in collaboration with global and regional Business Area leadership.
• Ensure strategic investments and GT priorities are reflected in the execution of country strategy and appropriately integrated into the Hub's 4+1 responsibilities.
• Represent North American customer needs, transmission market dynamics, regulatory trends, competitive realities, and regional growth opportunities in strategic discussions and the development of region-specific strategic options.
• Identify market opportunities, implementation barriers, customer insights, and partnership opportunities and support their evaluation and execution in collaboration with global and regional Business Area strategy teams.
• Originate and advance early-stage business development opportunities, including joint solutions, strategic partnerships, and new business models, before they become dedicated Sales leads.
• Drive opportunities on the ground by mobilizing global technical and portfolio expertise, preparing and facilitating partner workshops, aligning internal stakeholders, and progressing opportunities toward a collaboration agreement and clear commercial ownership.
• Once strategy and growth priorities are confirmed, establish practical regional implementation swim lanes, accountabilities, milestones, and governance that support the Business Area strategy.
• Translate confirmed strategic objectives into practical North American execution plans, including implementation swim lanes, milestones, accountabilities, stakeholder alignment, risks, and barriers to execution.
• Coordinate with Business Areas, global technical teams, Business Development, Sales, Government Affairs, Markets & Customers, Hub leadership, and external partners to drive implementation, maintain visibility on progress and execution gaps, and ensure an effective handoff to Sales when opportunities mature.
• Develop executive briefings and leadership communications on GT priorities, North American implications, investment considerations, and decisions requiring alignment.
• Identify cross-Business Area opportunities supporting enterprise-wide objectives in electrification, energy security, digitalization, decarbonization, AI, and workforce transformation.
• Partner with Grid Technologies strategy, technical, business development, and sales teams to translate North American market insights into priorities around transmission growth, HVDC, grid resiliency, interregional transmission, and data center grid infrastructure, and to shape and advance partnership opportunities aligned with those priorities.
What You Bring
• 10+ years of strategy, business development, market development, grid technology, transmission, energy infrastructure, management consulting, market research, investment banking, or related experience; 15+ years of overall energy industry experience preferred.
• Strong North American energy market knowledge, with demonstrated understanding of utilities, transmission planning, grid modernization, HVDC, grid resiliency, interconnection constraints, data center load growth, policy, regulation, and competitor dynamics.
• Ability to think strategically and execute tactically, translating strategic priorities into actionable regional implementation plans and measurable business outcomes.
• Demonstrated ability to influence senior stakeholders across global and regional organizations without relying solely on formal authority.
• Strong executive communication skills, including the ability to develop clear, concise management briefings, board-level materials, and leadership narratives.
• Experience managing cross-functional initiatives and early-stage business development with diverse technical and business teams across internal and external stakeholders.
• Demonstrated ability to structure and advance partnerships from initial concept through technical alignment, partner workshops, collaboration frameworks, governance, and handoff to commercial teams.
• High degree of independence, initiative, problem-solving ability, and comfort operating in ambiguous, fast-moving strategic environments.
• Bachelor's degree required, preferably in engineering, business, economics, or a related field; MBA or advanced degree preferred.
