Night Superintendentto join our project site in
midtown Manhattan. Position SummaryThe Night Superintendent is responsible for overseeing all nighttime construction activities for a bus terminal project (3:30PM-12AM). This role ensures work is completed safely, on schedule, and in accordance with project plans, specifications, and quality standards. The Night Superintendent serves as the primary on-site leader during off-hours, coordinating subcontractors, enforcing safety protocols, and maintaining project continuity.
Job Description- Supervise and coordinate all night shift construction activities on-site
- Manage subcontractors, trades, and vendors to ensure efficient workflow and adherence to schedule
- Enforce all safety policies and procedures; conduct nightly safety meetings and site inspections
- Ensure compliance with project plans, specifications, codes, and regulations
- Maintain site security and control access during night operations
- Identify and resolve field issues, conflicts, and delays in real time
- Coordinate with the Day Superintendent and Project Manager to ensure seamless transition between shifts
- Review and track daily progress, productivity, and manpower reports
- Verify material deliveries and ensure proper storage and handling
- Oversee quality control and ensure all work meets required standards
- Maintain accurate daily logs, incident reports, and documentation
- Monitor and minimize disruptions to surrounding areas, especially in an active transit environment
Required Skills- Minimum 5-10 years of construction supervision experience, preferably with large-scale infrastructure or transportation projects
- Experience working on public transit facilities, bus terminals, or similar projects preferred
- High School Diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor's degree preferred.
- Strong knowledge of construction methods, scheduling, and sequencing
- OSHA 30 certification (or equivalent) required
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications
- Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Experience coordinating multiple trades in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to work night shifts consistently and adapt to changing priorities
- Experience with phased construction in occupied or operational facilities
- Familiarity with local municipal and transit authority requirements
- Proficiency with construction management software (e.g., Procore, Bluebeam, MS Project)
- Proficiency with MS Office skills
- Strong focus on safety, quality, and schedule adherence
- Excellent communication skills
