WCVB-TV, Boston's ABC affiliate, is searching for a fearless, high-impact, multiplatform Reporter who can turn great storytelling into must-watch content. You'll break news, build sources, pitch and execute original enterprise ideas, deliver dynamic live shots, and create impression-grabbing social media posts. We're looking for a confident, take-charge journalist who hits the ground running-someone who thrives in the field, asks tough questions, and uses every tool available to create compelling, shareable stories. If you're fast, smart, deadline-driven, and energized by collaboration, you'll fit right in.

Responsibilities
  • Plan, gather, and produce stories for day-of news coverage and special project assignments
  • Collaborate with news managers and producers to develop stories that go beyond the surface, spotlight distinctive enterprise angles, and deliver exclusive content
  • Consistently contribute updated information, video, photos, and other elements to multiple platforms throughout the day
  • Embrace new technology and adapt to evolving demands to stay relevant in a rapidly shifting multi-media environment
  • Build and maintain a strong network of sources who provide tips and early access to information, enabling you to break impactful stories
  • Manage multiple stories and projects simultaneously, meeting all deadlines under pressure
  • Demonstrate unwavering journalistic integrity and the highest ethical standards

Requirements

  • Can work in all weather conditions
  • Have a valid driver's license and a clear driving record
  • Work varied shifts, including overnights and weekends
  • In person attendance required
  • Can deal with the stresses and pressures of time-sensitive newscast and digital production
  • Related military experience will be considered


Salary

The estimated salary for this role is between $114,000 and $135,000. The actual base pay offered is dependent upon many factors, such as transferable skills, work experience, business needs, market demands and conditions, including geographic location where the work will be performed, and other factors permitted by law. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future.
