Overview:We are seeking a highly experienced and motivated attorney with a strong background in personal injury law, particularly on the plaintiff side. The successful candidate must be licensed to practice law in New York.
Key Responsibilities:- Oversee a caseload of personal injury cases from initiation through resolution, including conducting legal research, drafting pleadings, motions, and discovery documents.
- Effectively communicate with clients, opposing counsel, and insurance companies to negotiate settlements and facilitate the litigation process.
- Conduct depositions, attend court hearings, and represent clients in mediation and arbitration proceedings.
- Collaborate with senior attorneys and support staff to devise case strategies for optimal outcomes.
- Stay updated on changes in personal injury laws and legal trends to provide knowledgeable counsel to clients.
Qualifications:- Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
- Active license to practice law in New York State, in good standing.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience handling plaintiffs' personal injury matters, with a focus on New York law.
- Proficient litigation skills, including experience with drafting legal documents, conducting depositions, and courtroom appearances.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
- Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Compensation Range:
$150,000-$200,000 USD
Compensation: The base salary or hourly range for this position will be determined during the interview process and will vary based on multiple factors, including but not limited to; prior relevant experience, business needs and market factors. Additionally, salary wages are only part of the total compensation package.
