Network Systems Engineer
Job Summary
KBR Mission Technology Solutions is seeking a motivated and talented Network Systems Engineer to join our team in Lexington Park, MD. Fundamentally, systems engineers solve problems, often by combining traditionally-disparate methods into new, creative solutions. The selectee will contribute to the design, development, implementation, integration, testing and delivery of data networking hardware, software, and systems solutions for the Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR).
Roles and Responsibilities
Network technology development: Provide direct support to government program office in charge of providing a new network technology that enables the evolving NAVAIR mission.
Test assessment: Analyze and assess integration and test data to identify and resolve issues with hardware design and tactical operations.
Collaboration: Coordinate interdisciplinary solutions among government and contractor partners, including the Navy Network Design Facility.
Learn: Participate in technical conferences and partner technical interchange meetings and bring advanced technologies to NAVAIR.
Basic Qualifications
Education: Coursework in engineering technology from an ETAC-accredited program, or in physical sciences from a regionally-accredited college or university.
Experience: A minimum of two (2) years of technical experience, which may include university design competitions, research participation, part-time assistantships, and college “hackathons.”
Security clearance: Must be a U.S. citizen. Selectee will be subject to a government Personnel Security Investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. An active or current Secret clearance desired. Selectee must also have the ability to obtain a final DoD Top Secret security clearance within six months of start date.
Preferred Qualifications
Education: Bachelor’s degree in engineering from an ABET-accredited program, or in physical sciences from a regionally-accredited college or university.
Networking Experience: IP-based tactical data links such as Tactical Targeting Network Technology (TTNT); time slot-based data links such as Link 16.
Skills: Troubleshooting and fault isolation; coordinating solutions among diverse teams.
Security Clearance: Active top secret security clearance.
Work Environment
Location: On-site; no remote work available.
Travel Requirements: Moderate (10% to 25%) travel to government and contractor facilities, test sites, or technical meetings and conferences.
Working Hours: Flexible. Standard government work hour support and surge support during integration and test phases.
Compensation: $93,720.00 - $140,470.00.The salary range posted is for Maryland locations. The offered rate will be based on contract affordability, the selected candidate’s knowledge, skills, abilities, and/or experience, and in consideration of internal parity.
Additional Compensation:
KBR may offer bonuses, commissions, or other forms of compensation to certain job titles or levels, per internal policy or contractual designation. Additional compensation may be in the form of sign on bonus, relocation benefits, short-term incentives, long-term incentives, or discretionary payments for exceptional performance.
