Job Summary
We are seeking a Network Security Engineer with strong experience in network security, firewall governance, operations, and remediation. This role will be responsible for planning and implementing enterprise network infrastructure, assessing existing technologies, establishing security and access controls, optimizing network infrastructure, and supporting firewall governance and remediation initiatives. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical, troubleshooting, documentation, and communication skills, with experience working across security, audit, risk, and compliance teams.

Key Responsibilities
 Plan and implement enterprise networks and related hardware and software.
 Assess existing network technologies to identify performance and capacity gaps.
 Establish and maintain security, connectivity, and access parameters, including firewalls and intrusion detection controls.
 Provide recommendations to optimize network infrastructure and security controls.
 Test and tune network security devices and systems.
 Configure and program routers and switches.
 Implement data and voice communications technologies.
 Manage network services from the planning phase through implementation.
 Review and manage firewall rule bases, including rule reviews, recertifications, cleanup, and optimization.
 Analyze firewall rules for compliance, security risks, and operational effectiveness.
 Support audit remediation activities, including evidence collection, documentation, issue tracking, and action-item closure.
 Identify remediation opportunities and drive corrective actions through completion.
 Collaborate with regulatory, audit, risk, and compliance teams to address findings and meet remediation deadlines.
 Support automation, scripting, and AI-assisted security operations initiatives as appropriate.

Required Qualifications
 5+ years of experience in Network Security, with a strong focus on firewall governance, operations, and remediation.
 Hands-on experience managing and reviewing firewall rule bases using technologies such as Palo Alto, Check Point, Cisco ASA/Firepower, or Fortinet.
 Strong understanding of network security controls, firewall policies, rule lifecycle management, and access governance.
 Experience supporting audit remediation activities, including evidence collection, documentation, issue tracking, and action-item closure.
 Proven experience performing firewall rule reviews, rule recertifications, cleanup initiatives, and rule-set optimization.
 Experience analyzing firewall rules for compliance, security risks, and operational effectiveness.
 Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to identify remediation opportunities and drive them to completion.
 Experience working with regulatory, audit, risk, and compliance teams to address findings and meet remediation deadlines.
 Solid knowledge of routing protocols, network hardware and software, security technologies, and network infrastructure.
 Knowledge of automation, scripting, or AI-assisted security operations.
 Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools, including Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio.
 Experience with ticketing and tracking platforms such as ServiceNow or Jira.
 Strong organizational and documentation skills with the ability to manage multiple initiatives and deadlines.
 Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

 Spanish language proficiency.
