Position Description

In this role, you will serve as the Network Monitoring Specialist for the Joint Staff Support Center (JSSC) Information Technology Support Services (JSSC-ITSS) contract. The position is responsible for monitoring systems and networks supporting JSSC-controlled Command and Control (C2) systems, including assets at designated critical and special-interest sites, to support reliable operations, performance management, and situational awareness. The role provides technical network monitoring, application administration, incident support, performance analysis, troubleshooting, and coordination with customers and technical teams.

Requirements

• Provide technical network monitoring and performance-management support for JSSC-controlled C2 systems and assets at designated critical and special-interest sites. Coordinate network operations to support reliable and quality transmission.
• Monitor network, server, and application availability; collect and analyze performance data; identify potential issues using diagnostic tools; and provide timely situational awareness regarding system and network conditions.
• Administer and troubleshoot commercial applications within the designated system environment. Document outages and conduct performance analysis to support continued system functionality.
• Collaborate with customers, technical teams, and contract leadership to address technical issues, provide system administration support, and offer guidance regarding network performance.
• Identify and resolve network problems, keep management and customers informed of significant issues, and recommend improvements to network performance and reliability.
• Triage network-related incidents, document outages and technical actions, ensure required notifications are made, and support development of strategies for operational improvement.
• Run approved batch jobs or scripts as required to support system uptime and operational availability. Analyze system and network performance data and recommend appropriate technical solutions.
• Coordinate with designated sites for performance monitoring and troubleshooting. Assist with SNMP configuration and software installation as required within the supported environment.
• Exercise independent judgment in achieving assigned contract objectives, anticipate customer needs, and support planning for system and network upgrades.
• Monitor resource usage to help optimize network availability and support efficient operations. Communicate effectively with users, customers, leadership, and external organizations.
• Comply with applicable safety, security, worksite-access, training, and certification requirements and maintain awareness of updates affecting assigned duties.

Requirements

1. High school diploma or equivalent.

2. Five (5) or more years of general information technology experience.

3. Minimum active Top Secret security clearance with Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) eligibility.

Work Environment

This position is 100% on-site at the Pentagon and supports JSSC-controlled C2 systems and associated mission operations. Work is performed in accordance with applicable site-access, safety, security, and operational procedures.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time, exempt position. The standard work schedule is Tuesday through Saturday , from 10:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. ET

Work Authorization/Security Clearance

Minimum active Top Secret security clearance with Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) eligibility.

Preferred

Active CompTIA Security+ CE certification or equivalent.
