Description

SAIC is seeking a Senior Network Engineer located at Camp Smith in Hawaii to support the U.S. Pacific Command (USPACOM) J637 Joint Exercise Branch to design, integrate, and execute exercise network architectures that align with operational requirements and the broader theater architecture in support of classified and unclassified joint and multinational training and exercise environments across the Pacific region.

The Senior Network Engineer will be responsible for but not limited to the following duties:

  • Integrate USPACOM J6 owned networks.
  • Design, develop, and execute scalable, secure exercise network architectures that align with operational requirements and the broader theater architecture in support of the Joint Exercise Program (JEP).
  • Collaborate with J68, J66, and J76 engineers and external stakeholders to deliver executable architectures. Resolve technical architecture issues alongside the J6 Chief Technical Officer (CTO).
  • Integrate common services, C2/Mission Command systems, and applications into exercise networks; troubleshoot and resolve network issues to ensure operational readiness.
  • Support lead J6 exercise planners during planning conferences and exercise execution, ensuring compliance with DoD standards and best practices.
  • Brief detailed and high-level network concepts to staff directorates and General/Flag officers.
  • Perform occasional travel to planning events and exercise execution as required.
  • Additional IT Network duties as required to support J76 Division and J7 Directorate.

Qualifications

Required Education:
  • Bachelor's degree and nine (9) years' experience; additional four (4) years' experience can be considered in lieu of degree.

Required Clearance:
  • Must possess an active Secret security clearance with the ability to obtain and maintain TS/SCI; US Citizenship required.

Required Skills:
  • In-depth knowledge and experience with networking technologies, including Wide Area Networks (WAN), Local Area Networks (LAN), Wireless Networks, Type 1 Encryption, Software Defined Networking, Firewalls, and VPNs.
  • Demonstrated experience in theater-level network integration and translating operational requirements into executable network architectures.
  • Working knowledge of Zero Trust (ZT) environments, cloud infrastructure, DoD Risk Management Framework (RMF), cybersecurity best practices, and integration of C2/Mission Command systems into network environments.

Required Certifications:
  • Must have a current DoD 8570 IAT II compliance certification (Security+ CE or greater), prior to hire.

Target salary range: $120,001 - $160,000. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
