Full Job Description
Network Engineer to support a long-term DOD program focused on Navy enterprise network infrastructure, network engineering, cybersecurity, and Tier III network operations. This position is 100% onsite in Pearl Harbor, HI. The Network Engineer will support a large-scale, geographically dispersed enterprise network environment, providing hands-on expertise in routing, switching, LAN/WAN/WLAN, network boundaries, network security, troubleshooting, configuration, and network modernization across mission-critical Navy infrastructure.

Responsibilities of the Network Engineer include:
  • Engineer, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot enterprise network infrastructure including routers, switches, firewalls, wireless, VLANs, VPNs, and network sensors
  • Provide Tier III escalation support for complex network issues, outages, and performance problems
  • Troubleshoot routing and switching technologies including BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, multicast, SD-WAN, MPLS, and VPNs
  • Support LAN/WAN/WLAN and network boundary engineering across a large, geographically dispersed enterprise environment
  • Apply network security and defense-in-depth principles while maintaining compliance with DISA STIGs and DoD cybersecurity requirements
  • Perform root cause analysis and develop solutions for complex and recurring network issues
  • Plan, test, document, and implement network changes, upgrades, firmware updates, and security patches
  • Conduct lab and pre-production testing to validate network functionality, security, performance, and deployment procedures
  • Maintain network configurations, baselines, technical documentation, and change records
  • Collaborate with engineering, operations, cybersecurity, vendors, and customer teams on network operations, architecture, and modernization efforts
  • Participate in Agile/SAFe processes, JIRA tracking, technical meetings, and an on-call rotation


Qualifications of the Network Engineer include:
  • 8-12 years of relevant experience with a Bachelor's degree, or 6-10 years with a Master's degree; equivalent experience may be considered
  • Extensive hands-on experience with enterprise network engineering, configuration, and troubleshooting
  • Strong routing and switching experience, including BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, VLANs, and related protocols
  • Demonstrated Tier III escalation experience supporting complex network environments
  • Experience supporting large-scale, geographically dispersed enterprise networks
  • Hands-on experience with LAN/WAN/WLAN, network boundaries, firewalls, VPNs, SD-WAN, or MPLS
  • Strong understanding of network security and defense-in-depth
  • Experience with network change management, lab testing, and pre-production validation
  • Experience with DISA STIGs and DoD network security requirements


Preferred Qualifications of the Network Engineer
  • Experience with network automation, Ansible, Python, or Infrastructure as Code
  • Experience with Arista networking technologies
  • Advanced Cisco networking experience


Compensation for the Network Engineer includes:
  • Salary: $105,000-$115,000 depending on experience
