Full Job Description
Day-to-day responsibilities include managing and supporting enterprise network infrastructure across classified and unclassified systems. As a mid-level Network Engineer, you will be hands-on with the networking equipment from day 1. You will leverage your Cisco network equipment experience to design and optimize on-premises network architectures, integrate them with cloud environments.

You will configure secure network hardware/software across Cisco routing, switching, and firewall platforms currently deployed in our environment. Then monitor performance, identify connectivity and/or security issues, and rapidly implement fixes to maintain network fidelity.

You will work closely with cybersecurity teams, cloud engineers, and system administrators to ensure compliance with DoD standards and support evolving mission requirements. Attention to detail, strong troubleshooting skills, and the ability to operate effectively in highly secure on-site environments are critical.

How you will contribute to our National Security and Defense mission:

You will design, implement, and maintain secure and reliable networks aligned with DoD and government cybersecurity requirements. This includes hands-on configuration of Cisco networking platforms, cloud networking integration, and ensuring seamless connectivity across mission-critical systems. You will oversee network configuration, troubleshooting, and implementation of scalable solutions that support operations in both on-premises and cloud-based environments.

You'll be a great fit for this role if:
  • You have a passion for modernizing network and cybersecurity infrastructure.
  • You understand DoD reference and STIG compliance architectures.
  • You have experience with cloud systems, on-prem networks.
  • You excel at diagnosing complex networking issues quickly and effectively.
  • You communicate clearly and collaborate well with cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities:
  • Design, develop, and maintain secure network architectures for classified and unclassified environments.
  • Configure, manage, and optimize Cisco firewalls, routers, and switches in alignment with existing enterprise standards.
  • Assist in planning and designing large-scale network projects, including cloud integration efforts.
  • Monitor network performance proactively; identify bottlenecks and improve reliability.
  • Diagnose and resolve network-related issues while ensuring minimal downtime.
  • Deploy and manage network security protocols per DoD requirements, including RMF and STIG compliance.
  • Implement networking solutions that integrate on-premises systems with AWS, Azure, or other cloud environments.
  • Prepare documentation, conduct audits, and support regulatory compliance efforts.
  • Collaborate with cybersecurity teams to align operations with organizational security goals.

Qualifications Required:
  • 5-8+ years of hands-on network engineering experience (mid-level).
  • Strong experience designing enterprise networks and integrating them with cloud environments.
  • Practical expertise with Cisco routing, switching, and firewall platforms used in our environment.
  • Experience installing, configuring, and managing network hardware (switches, routers, firewalls).
  • Proficiency with networking fundamentals: IP addressing, DNS, VLANs, VPNs, BGP, TCP/IP.
  • Experience with cloud networking technologies (Azure, Nutanix, etc.).
  • Familiarity with DoD compliance frameworks such as RMF and STIGs.
  • Experience with enterprise network monitoring and management tools.
  • Proficient in both on-premises and cloud-based networking services.

Education:
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university in an IT-related field such as Computer Networking, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, or a related field.
  • Industry certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, CISSP, or AWS/Azure networking certifications are highly desirable.

Clearance Requirements:
  • Must have a Secret DoD Security Clearance.
  • Must be a US Citizen.
