The WorkYou will support the implementation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of Lockheed Martin's enterprise network infrastructure for the C2BMC program. Your day-to-day duties include configuring and maintaining routers, switches, and firewalls (Cisco, Juniper, Fortinet, Palo Alto), monitoring LAN/WAN performance, and resolving connectivity, latency, and packet-loss issues. You will implement core networking technologies such as VLANs, OSPF, BGP, GRE tunnels, and multicast, and you'll collaborate with senior engineers and cross-functional IT teams on network design, upgrades, and project deployments. The role requires regular travel to remote sites for installations, independent troubleshooting, and status reporting, as well as on-call support outside regular business hours when critical activities arise.

Who You AreYou are a proven mid-level network engineer with at least three years of hands-on experience designing, testing, and supporting multi-vendor LAN/WAN environments. You bring a strong foundation in the OSI model, TCP/IP, routing protocols (BGP, OSPF), and firewall technologies, and you are comfortable performing root-cause analysis and documenting resolutions. Your communication skills enable you to convey complex technical concepts clearly, both in writing and presentations (PowerPoint, Visio). You hold the required certifications, a Secret clearance, and the U.S. citizenship and passport needed to travel and support this critical defense program.
Designs and plans network communications systems. Provides specifications and detailed schematics for network architecture. Provides specific detailed information for hardware and software selection, implementation techniques and tools for the most efficient solution to meet business needs, including present and future capacity requirements. Conducts testing of network design. Maintains technical expertise in all areas of network and computer hardware and software interconnection and interfacing, such as routers, multiplexers, firewalls, hubs, bridges, gateways, etc. Evaluates and reports on new communications technologies to enhance capabilities of the network.
Basic Qualifications- Active Secret security clearance and U.S. citizenship with a valid passport
- IAT-Level II (8570-compliant) certification (e.g., Security+, GSEC, SCNP, SSCP, CISSP, CISA, GSE, SCNA).
- CCNA or JNCIA certification.
- Proven hands-on experience with Cisco and Juniper routing/switching, firewalls (Juniper, Fortinet, Palo Alto).
- Solid understanding of the OSI model, TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, VLANs, GRE tunnels, UDP multicast, SONET, and MSPP.
- Experience with WAN optimizers, TACLANEs, and optical transport equipment.
- Strong network traffic analysis, diagnostic, and troubleshooting skills.
- Effective written and verbal communication; proficiency with Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Visio).
Desired Skills- Proficient in AI prompting as it applies to this position and practice
- Top Secret clearance.
- CCNP or JNCIP certification.
- Knowledge of VMware NSX, vSAN, and Aria.
- Network automation experience using Ansible.
- Familiarity with DoD security standards (STIG compliance, system accreditation).
- Prior experience with the C2BMC program or other missile-defense networking environments.
Pay InformationFull-Time Salary Range: $85300.00 - $158300.00

- Annual short-term and/or long-term incentive compensation programs may be offered depending on the position. Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and can vary from year to year and are tied to a range of performance metrics.
- For (Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full-time employees: accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.
