Network Engineer II to support our contract at the Defense Health Agency (DHA) GSP TO7 in ATAMMC, Fort Belvoir, VA.Location: 9300 DeWitt Loop, Fort Belvoir, VA 22060
Position Overview:- The Network Engineer II participates in the design, implementation, and day-to-day administration of ATAMMC network infrastructure and participates in the On-Call/Call-Back rotation for Engineering Services.
Job Duties:- Participate in MHS infrastructure and technical architecture planning for all voice, data, and video networks.
- Develop, coordinate, and gain government approval for all planned and unplanned network outage plans.
- Assist with establishing and implementing network policies, procedures, standards, and security.
- Install, relocate, configure, test, patch, and upgrade all network devices, including routers, switches, and wireless access points.
- Manage the creation and deletion of network accounts, password management, and configuration management of all network devices.
- Create, maintain, and manage Virtual Local Area Networks (VLANs).
- Continuously monitor network performance to identify and resolve issues.
- Perform and document all scheduled preventive maintenance and any unscheduled outages.
- Operate and maintain all VoIP components in strict compliance with DoD instructions and relevant DISA STIGs.
- Support major network architecture changes, including the deployment and migration of servers and other devices.
- Diagnose and configure connectivity for MHS site-specific servers.
- Participate in On-Call/Call-Back rotation for Engineering Services.
Required Qualifications:- 4+ Years of progressive experience demonstrating the required proficiency in network engineering.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Network Engineering, or related field, and/or equivalent years of experience.
- Experience implementing and administering enterprise network devices including routers, switches, and wireless access points.
- Experience with VLAN management, VoIP systems, and network security in DoD environments.
- Experience with DISA STIG compliance for network infrastructure.
- Experience with network performance monitoring and preventive maintenance.
Required to Start:- Certification Requirements: a Current IAT II Certification is required to Start.
- Clearance Requirements: Must have or be able obtain a NACLC Public Trust which is required to Start. All personnel must obtain favorable suitability adjudication prior to commencement of duties.
