ConMet is seeking a
Network Engineer to design, implement, maintain, and support the company's global network infrastructure. This role serves as the primary engineer for assigned technology areas and projects, delivering scalable, secure, maintainable, and highly available network solutions.
The position supports ConMet locations across the United States, Mexico, and China through on-site, travel-based, and remote support. The ideal candidate has experience with enterprise networking, manufacturing environments, network security, and complex incident resolution.
This role requires working in an office environment (not hybrid or remote) at ConMet's corporate headquarters in Vancouver, Washington. Non-local candidates must be open to relocation (relocation assistance available.

Key Responsibilities- Design, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot global network infrastructure.
- Support enterprise firewalls, remote-access VPN, SD-WAN/SASE, routing and switching, and wireless networks.
- Monitor network performance, perform packet-level diagnostics, and resolve complex incidents.
- Lead root-cause analysis and coordinate network maintenance, repairs, upgrades, and change implementations.
- Support connectivity for manufacturing and industrial control systems, including PLCs, HMIs, SCADA, MES, and industrial PCs.
- Maintain secure segmentation between corporate IT and OT networks using firewalls, VLANs, and access-control policies.
- Partner with cybersecurity teams on security controls, remediation, audits, and evidence collection.
- Maintain network diagrams, configurations, IP-addressing records, circuit inventories, and equipment documentation.
- Develop network designs, capacity-planning procedures, and availability and utilization reports.
- Participate in technology upgrade projects, after-hours maintenance windows, and the on-call rotation.
- Provide technical guidance and coaching to Associate Network Engineers.
Required Qualifications- Bachelor's degree, or foreign equivalent, in Information Technology, Systems Engineering, or a related field.
- At least three years of progressively responsible experience supporting enterprise network systems.
- Experience with multisite corporate and manufacturing networks.
- Experience supporting enterprise firewalls, VPN solutions, SD-WAN/SASE, switches, routers, and wireless infrastructure.
- Knowledge of three-tier network architecture, wireless surveys and RF design, network monitoring, and packet-level troubleshooting.
- Experience supporting network communications for industrial control systems and managing IT/OT connectivity and segmentation.
- Ability to work independently, collaborate across teams, travel as needed, and support multiple time zones.
Preferred Skills and Certifications- CCNA preferred; CCNP, PCNSE, or CISSP valued.
- Strong understanding of the OSI and TCP/IP models.
- Working knowledge of routing and switching, firewalls, VPN, SD-WAN/SASE, wireless infrastructure, and network security.
- Familiarity with IPsec, BGP, OSPF, IEEE 802.11, VLANs, and QoS.
- Ability to learn and apply emerging network technologies.
Compensation & Benefits - New hires generally start between $91,000 - $124,000.
- The full salary range for the position, across all geographies is $91,000 - $157,000 per year. The upper portion of the salary range is typically reserved for existing employees who demonstrate strong performance over time. Starting salary will vary by location, qualifications, and prior experience.
- Targeted annual bonus is based on company performance to objectives during the fiscal plan year which runs from October 1 - September 30.
