Full Job Description
Performs network services from network design through implementation, maintenance, and upgrading of existing networks.
Analyzes design, specifications, and related documents. Performs general LAN/CAN/WAN administration. Schedules conversions and cutovers. Coordinates with all responsible users and sites to resolve network or system incidents. Translates business requirements into telecommunications (e.g., LAN, CAN, WAN, Voice and Video) requirements, designs and orders. Performs engineering analysis of telecommunications alternatives in support of strategic modernization efforts and telecommunications enhancement design for medium and large-scale telecommunication infrastructures. Assists
telecommunications end users, telecommunications operations personnel, and telecommunications strategic program management with network interfaces.
Due to federal contract requirements, United States Citizenship and position appropriate security clearance is required. (e.g. Active TS/SCI security clearance with agency appropriate polygraph).
Capabilities
3 Optimize end-to-end system performance and dataflow management.
3 Conduct data captures to obtain network performance information.
3 Minimize network latency and maximize data throughput through design analysis and network performance monitoring tools.
3 Provide input to the design of the organizations network and mission architecture.
3 Design solutions, integrate, configure, deploy, test and provide ongoing maintenance for numerous types of network devices, interfaces and methodologies.
3 Configure and optimize the network to connect various front-end and back-end components.
3 Gather needed data to specify system/component performance and interface requirements
3 Implement specific network solutions to support server requirements to include load-balancing, VPNs, firewall contexts, Traffic Shaping Voice over IP (VoIP), GRE Tunneling, IP Security (IPSec), IP Encryption, Media over IP (MoIP), and network address translation (NAT) where appropriate.
3 Configure and maintain organizations network diagrams and accreditations.
3 Oversee the support to all network equipment.
3 Develop designs of the organizations network and mission architecture to meet new partner requirements.
3 Manage assigned tasks and provide guidance to junior Network Engineers.
3 Integrate hardware and software to satisfy ISO 9000 requirements and other DoD/IC regulations.
Required Qualifications
3 TS/SCI with agency appropriate polygraph
3 A Masters degree in Computer Science, Information Assurance, Information Security Systems Engineering, or a related discipline from an accredited college or university and six (6) years of relevant professional experience providing Network Engineering support and training commensurate with network engineering curriculum.
3 In lieu of a Masters degree, a Bachelors degree from an accredited college or university in System Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering Science, Engineering Management, or related discipline and an additional two (2) years of relevant professional experience providing Network Engineering support for a total of eight (8) years.
3 In lieu of a Masters or Bachelors degree an additional six (6) years experience providing Network Engineering support and a Certification in an industry standard (Arista Configuration Essentials, Cisco Certified Network Associate, or Juniper Certification Tracks (Automation & DevOps, Cloud, Data Center, Design, Enterprise Routing and Switching, Junos Security, Service Provider Routing and Switching)) may be substituted for a total of 12 years.
3 Certifications: An Information Assurance Technical (IAT) level II baseline certification as defined by DoD 8570.01-M is required.
