Job DescriptionWe are looking for a Tier II Network Engineer to support an IC program delivering network support to the customer's various wide area networks (WANs) and local area networks (LANs). This position will provide support to an enterprise level infrastructure across multiple classifications.
The Network Engineer responsibilities will include:
- The Tier II network field technician will support the installation and maintenance of the client LAN/WAN devices.
- Respond to and resolve incidents, demonstrate troubleshooting skills and communicate with the team.
- Complete assigned tasks within Service Level Objectives/Agreements (SLOs/SLAs).
- Draft and implement standard network change requests.
- Provide support to Tier III network engineers for incident management and projects (site surveys, TEMS, coordinate and install new equipment).
- Perform configuration management functions such as update topology drawings, ensure asset management records are accurate, and conduct inventory.
- Coordinate network operations, maintenance, repairs, or upgrades. (Knowledge of CISCO/Juniper RMA process).
- Layer 1 network experience (CAT5/6, SM/MM Fiber, Serial cables, SFP).
- Layer 2 network experience (ability to configure/troubleshoot switches/routers, MAC addresses, VLANs, port security, applying thin and thick configs.
- Layer 3 network experience (subnetting, familiar with protocols such as OSPF, BGP, HSRP, MPLS, LSP, GRE)
- Configure and troubleshoot layer 2 switching (VLAN's, Port Security, Thin Configs).
- Perform IOS upgrades for Cisco, Juniper, Brocade and Foundry OS.
- Experience with Visio.
- Familiar with ServiceNow and Confluence.
- May have up to 10% COMSEC responsibilities based on site and team needs.

Required Skills and Education- Must have 10 years of experience that can be a combination of work history and education.
- Must be compliant with DoD 8140 Information Assurance Technical (IAT) Level 2.
- Experience with configuring and troubleshooting Juniper and Cisco routers and switches.
- Experience with protocols such as OSPF, BGP, VPN's, VRF's, MPLS.
- Understanding of routing, switching, Internet Protocol (IP) subnet, Network Address Translation (NAT) and security technologies.
- Working knowledge of Service Now or similar IT Service Management (ITSM) products.
- Intermediate-level knowledge of MS Office products Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio.
- Ability to represent the team and deliver status reports to internal and external leadership.
- Excellent organizational and follow through skills.
- Strong communication (written and verbal) skills.
- Detail oriented with problem-solving skills.
- Available to travel up to 20% of the time.
- Available to work flexible hours, to include weekend support.
- Ability to work independently and in a collaborative environment.
Preferred Skills and Education- Experience with Palo Alto, Cisco Adaptive Security Appliance (ASA), and Forcepoint firewall equipment and applications is a plus.
