The Network Director is responsible for the strategic direction, architecture, engineering, and operational excellence of Syniverse's internal network backbone and customer-interfacing network — a critical enabler of the company's global telecom and messaging services. This leader ensures scalable, secure, and high-performing infrastructure that supports business growth while driving a culture of engineering excellence across a team of managers, architects, and engineers.

Some of What You'll Do
- Develop and execute network strategies aligned with organizational goals.
- Collaborate with senior leadership to assess Syniverse network needs and plan for future growth.
- Establish, document, and enforce network engineering standards, design principles, and change management practices.
- Champion operational discipline through runbooks, post-incident reviews, and continuous improvement cycles.
- Oversee the design, deployment, and maintenance of the Syniverse network.
- Ensure high availability, performance, and security of network services.
- Analyze Network usage and implement optimization techniques to maximize resource efficiency.
- Identify cost-saving opportunities and implement measures to reduce expenses.
- Lead and mentor a team of Network Managers, engineers and architects, fostering a culture of innovation.
- Set performance objectives and conduct regular evaluations.
- Manage relationships with Network vendors and OEM and technology partners to ensure quality and cost-effectiveness.
- Negotiate contracts and service level agreements aligned to our network services
- Develop and manage the network budget, ensuring alignment with financial objectives.
- Monitor expenditures and implement cost-saving measures.
- Identify and mitigate risks associated with network infrastructure.
- Ensure compliance with industry network standards and regulations.
- Stay updated on emerging network technologies and trends.
- Evaluate and recommend new tools and technologies to enhance operations.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in information technology, Computer Science, or a related field
- 10+ years in network engineering, with at least 3–5 years in a people management or senior leadership role, including experience managing managers.
- Previous or current certification in any of the following disciplines preferred CCIE, CCNA, JNCIA, JNCIE, JNCIP or JNCIS
