Fiber Construction ManagerLocation: Phoenix, AZ
We are seeking a Fiber Construction Manager to oversee the successful delivery of fiber infrastructure projects. This individual will coordinate field construction activities, contractors, engineering teams, permitting requirements, schedules, and budgets across multiple concurrent projects.

The ideal candidate has hands-on experience with fiber/telecommunications construction and understands both aerial and underground infrastructure. This position requires someone who can independently manage field activity, resolve construction issues, and keep projects moving from planning through completion.
Responsibilities
  • Oversee multiple fiber construction projects through planning, construction, completion, and turnover.
  • Coordinate activities between engineering teams, field personnel, contractors, vendors, and other project stakeholders.
  • Review proposed projects to identify potential construction challenges and requirements.
  • Manage third-party construction contractors and monitor performance, schedules, quality, and costs.
  • Support contractor bidding, selection, and project scoping.
  • Oversee aerial and underground fiber construction activities.
  • Coordinate required permits, utility approvals, access agreements, and other construction-related requirements.
  • Work with municipalities, utilities, and other outside organizations throughout the construction process.
  • Monitor project schedules and proactively address delays, field conflicts, or other risks.
  • Review construction progress and verify work meets established quality and safety expectations.
  • Track project costs and work with contractors to address pricing or scope changes.
  • Maintain accurate project documentation and provide regular progress updates.
  • Resolve field issues and coordinate solutions with engineering and project stakeholders.
  • Support project closeout and ensure outstanding construction items are completed.
Required Qualifications
  • Experience supporting or managing fiber or telecommunications construction projects.
  • Knowledge of Outside Plant (OSP) fiber construction.
  • Understanding of both aerial and underground construction methods.
  • Experience overseeing construction contractors and/or subcontractors.
  • Familiarity with permitting and working with municipalities, utilities, or other governing organizations.
  • Experience managing project schedules, budgets, and multiple concurrent workstreams.
  • Ability to identify and resolve construction issues in the field.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and stakeholder-management skills.
  • Ability to regularly travel to active project locations.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with both OSP and ISP telecommunications environments.
  • Familiarity with fiber testing and construction quality practices.
  • Understanding of telecommunications construction safety requirements and industry standards.
  • Technical, engineering, or construction-related education or equivalent professional experience.
  • Project management certification or formal project management training.
