Network Administrator III

Description

Our organization is seeking a skilled and motivated Network Administrator to join our dynamic IT team. This intermediate-level position plays a crucial role in maintaining, optimizing, and securing our network infrastructure. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in network administration, including hands-on experience with LAN, WLAN, SD-WAN, network security, cloud and a passion for keeping up with the latest developments in the field.

As a key member of our IT team, you will be responsible for the day-to-day operations of our network infrastructure, ensuring its reliability, performance, and security. This role offers the opportunity to work with a diverse set of technologies and contributes to the continuous improvement of our network systems.

You'll Do:

Network Infrastructure Management

  • Manage and maintain our core and site network infrastructure, including routers, switches, and other network devices
  • Design, implement, and optimize network topologies to meet organizational needs
  • Manage and optimize our SD-WAN infrastructure, ensuring efficient and reliable connectivity across all sites
  • Troubleshoot complex network issues and implement solutions to ensure network availability and optimal performance
  • Develop, implement and maintain network standards


Wireless Network Administration

  • Oversee the configuration, maintenance, and optimization of our WiFi infrastructure
  • Conduct site surveys and implement changes to improve wireless coverage and performance


Network Security

  • Manage and configure firewalls, including Next-Generation Firewalls (NGFW) advanced features.
  • Implement and maintain Zero-Trust Infrastructure, including Zero Trust Network Access (ZTNA) solutions
  • Configure and manage remote access technologies to ensure secure connectivity for remote workers


Load Balancing and Traffic Management

  • Configure and maintain load balancers to optimize application performance and availability
  • Implement traffic management policies to ensure efficient use of network resources


Monitoring and Maintenance

  • Implement and manage performance and health monitoring solutions for network devices and services
  • Develop and execute network device patch management processes to maintain security and stability
  • Conduct regular network audits and implement improvements based on findings


Documentation and Process Improvement

  • Maintain up-to-date documentation of network configurations, topologies, and processes
  • Contribute to the development and refinement of network-related policies and procedures


You Have:

  • Certificate, Diploma, or Degree in Information Technology, Network Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
  • 5+ years of experience in network administration, with a focus on enterprise environments
  • Strong hands-on experience with SD-WAN technologies and implementation
  • Solid understanding of networking protocols and technologies (BGP, OSPF, TCP/IP, VLANs, LACP, NAT, VPNs, etc.)
  • Solid understanding of different physical network solutions (copper, fiber, radio, cellular, satellite, etc.)
  • Hands-on experience with network security technologies, including firewalls, IPS/IDS, WAF and SASE
  • Familiarity with zero-trust principles and implementation in network environments
  • Experience with wireless network technologies and best practices
  • Knowledge of load balancing concepts and technologies
  • Proficiency in network monitoring and troubleshooting tools
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Experience working as a team player


Additional Skills (Highly Desired):

  • Experience with Palo Alto, Fortinet, Zscaler, Cisco, and Aruba networking technologies
  • Familiarity with cloud networking concepts (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
  • Knowledge of automation and scripting for network management (e.g., Python, Ansible)
  • Relevant industry certifications (e.g., CCNA, CCNP, Fortinet NSE, Palo Alto PCNSE)
  • Experience with network virtualization technologies


Compensation Package:

  • The salary range for this position may vary depending on experience, education, and location. The annual salary range is between $85,000 - $100,000.
