OverviewNetwork Administrator

The Network Administrator is responsible for the implementation, maintenance, monitoring, and support of the organization's enterprise network infrastructure. This role ensures stability, integrity, and efficient operation of network systems that support core organizational functions. The Network Administrator performs network configuration, troubleshooting, monitoring, and maintenance activities while supporting local area networks (LANs), wide area networks (WANs), cloud-connected environments, and network security initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Install, configure, maintain, and support enterprise network infrastructure and services.
- Configure and troubleshoot routing protocols (EIGRP, BGP, OSPF) and switching technologies to ensure reliable connectivity.
- Support cloud-connected and hybrid network environments, including AWS, Azure, and GCP integrations.
- Assist with the deployment, administration, and troubleshooting of SD-WAN solutions.
- Implement and maintain DISA STIGs and DoD security requirements for network devices and infrastructure.
- Utilize tools such as SolarWinds and SD-WAN controllers to monitor network health, identify issues, and optimize performance.
- Maintain network diagrams, configuration records, standard operating procedures, and technical documentation.
- Provide Tier 2 and Tier 3 support for network-related incidents and service requests.
- Participate in troubleshooting and restoration efforts during network outages and service disruptions.
- Work with vendors and support providers to resolve hardware, software, and connectivity issues.
- Recommend enhancements to improve network reliability, security, and operational efficiency.
- Occasional CONUS/OCONUS travel may be required for project support.
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field (or associate’s degree with 3+ years of relevant experience and CCNA certification).
- 3+ years of enterprise network administration experience.
- DoD IAT Level II certification (e.g., Security+ CE).
- Must possess a TS/SCI with the ability to obtain CI poly
- Successfully pass background and drug screening
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Working knowledge of TCP/IP, VLANs, VPNs, BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, MPLS, and enterprise networking concepts.
- Experience administering Cisco, Palo Alto, Arista, or similar enterprise networking platforms.
- Knowledge of firewall policies, IDS/IPS technologies, access controls, and network security best practices.
- Experience using network monitoring and troubleshooting tools such as SolarWinds, Wireshark, or equivalent platforms.
- Ability to diagnose and resolve network connectivity, performance, and security issues.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Experience maintaining network documentation, diagrams, and operational procedures.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to prioritize workload and adapt to changing operational requirements.
