Description

SAIC is seeking a Navy Amphibious Warfare SME to support advanced pre-deployment training for integrated Navy and Marine Corps forces. This position is for someone who is passionate about training and ensuring our Navy-Marine Corps team is fully ready to deploy. Place of performance is San Diego and Coronado, CA, with potential travel to Fleet Concentration Areas. The scope of work includes development and execution of war games, instructional course support, and support to Live, Virtual, and Constructive (LVC) fleet training events.

JOB DUTIES:
  • Develop war game scenarios to support the pre-deployment training and integration of various Navy and Marine Corps units, including, but not limited to Amphibious Ready Groups, Marine Expeditionary Units, Expeditionary Strike Groups, Marine Expeditionary Brigades, Carrier Strike Groups, and Marine Littoral Regiments.
  • Present war games using government furnished modeling and simulation/command and control systems, role-playing amphibious/expeditionary components as required and facilitating accomplishment of training objectives through liaison with the military staff.
  • Liaise with Navy, Marine Corps, and Joint centers of excellence, and provide SME support in latest USN/USMC doctrine, tactics, techniques and procedures for amphibious and expeditionary warfare.

Qualifications

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE AND CLEARANCE:
  • Bachelor's degree and ten (10) years of experience; additional years' experience accepted in lieu of a degree.
  • Ten years demonstrated experience and subject matter expertise in planning, implementation and execution of amphibious/expeditionary operations, direction and employment of units, and coordination requirements between amphibious and expeditionary components, subordinate elements, and higher headquarters.
  • Experience as staff operations officer or qualification as Tactical Action Officer, Battle Watch Captain, or equivalent warfare area qualification that demonstrates knowledge and experience in Navy amphibious/expeditionary warfare operations.
  • Thorough knowledge of amphibious and expeditionary unit capabilities and limitations.
  • Five years of experience translating amphibious and expeditionary training requirements into a comprehensive war game design for execution and assessment.
  • Demonstrated understanding of the Naval Services strategic guidance and integration, as well as implications for the force in future operating environments.
  • Must be a US Citizen and currently hold an active Secret clearance.

Target salary range: $120,001 - $160,000. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
