This role is part of Advanced Concepts and Enterprise Engineering (ACE), supporting Blue Origin's mission of millions of people living and working in space for the benefit of Earth. The team fosters innovation and drives engineering workflows of the future, shared solutions and standards, simplicity and lower costs, and manufacturable design.

Blue Origin's Advance Concepts - Flight Systems group is seeking a top tier Software Verification Engineer. As part of a hardworking team of specialists, you will be supporting aspects of verification, validation, and development for current and future spaceflight navigation systems. This position will require your commitment and detailed attention towards safe, low cost, and repeatable spaceflight and will directly shape the future of space exploration.

Responsibilities:
  • Own the authoring and execution of master verification and validation plans across various navigation related avionics boxes.
  • Evaluates requirements, proposes V&V solutions, explore trades to support a design.
  • Develop test cases and test procedures.
  • Support or own the delivery of software verification reports to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Own verification and validation trace matrices, software, and systems level.
  • Embrace AI and automation in all aspects of the software verification and validation.
  • Able to contribute as a software developer.
  • Effective use of software configuration management, source control, DevSecOps, CI/CD, etc.
  • Communicates with customers and stakeholders to establish requirements and describe the design and status of deliverables.


Minimum Qualifications:
  • Minimum of BS degree in Software Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience software verification and validation.
  • Detailed knowledge of DO-178C and/or NASA NPR 7150.2
  • Software development skills in all or several programming languages including: C, C++, MATLAB, Python, and Rust.
  • Experience with Gitlab
  • Experience with real-time systems and embedded programming.
  • Good communication skills and ability to interface companywide as a technical leader.
  • Self-starting who thrives in a fast-paced new product development environment.


Desired:
  • MS degree in Software Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
  • 2+ years' experience with software or algorithm development.
  • Experience with navigation algorithms such as Extended Kalman Filters.
  • Knowledge of IMUs, GPS and other complementary navigation technologies.


Compensation Range for:
WA applicants is $130,706.00 - $182,987.70
