Job Description

Responsible for the implementation and management of large scale, national or company-wide programs for an Engineering Consulting firm. Executes strategic initiatives, coordinates resources, and develops new and existing client relationships. Leads and supports growth of key focus areas. Engages in major pursuits and serves as a subject matter or market expert.

Responsibilities

  • Implement tactics in keeping with strategy for company-wide programs for the service line or business sector services.
  • Execute initiatives based on strategy defined by others; translate strategic direction into actionable steps and provide input when appropriate.
  • Receive strategic direction and assume responsibility for carrying out actionable items, ensuring tactical follow-through.
  • Develop the pursuit pipeline by identifying opportunities, evaluating potential clients and services, and teeing up targeted pursuits for leadership review.
  • Assess where opportunities fit geographically and position them to support sector and service line growth plans.
  • Work with teams in operations, including specialized groups, to drive assigned strategic initiatives and enable growth in focus areas.
  • Insert tactical actions into operational teams to ensure execution aligns with sector and service line strategy.
  • Provide leadership in executing the strategy, ensuring progress and accountability, while not being responsible for developing the strategy itself.
  • Serve as primary liaison between the service lines, sector, operations, and client teams to maintain alignment and ensure coordinated execution.
  • Apply subject matter or market expertise to pursuits or projects; coordinate resources from across the company to support initiative execution.
  • Support new client development and engage with existing clients to promote services.
  • Contribute to major pursuit action items and drive tactical follow-through on deliverables.
  • Support sector leadership in advancing subsector market focus areas.
  • Translate the Terracon Strategic Plan and prioritized initiatives into clear tactical work plans.
  • Communicate and reinforce safety initiatives, rules, and guidelines across the office or region; hold managers and employees accountable for compliance.
  • Promote and monitor continuous quality improvement on projects; ensure best practices are followed and hold Managers accountable for quality control standards.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

    Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in discipline practiced by the Firm including Engineering, Environmental Science or Geology and 9 years' related experience. Or, in lieu of a degree, a minimum of 13 years' related experience.
  • Strong environmental or engineering consulting and client development background with a specific area of environmental or engineering expertise.
  • Experience in client engagement, proposal writing, and commercial agreements.
  • Valid driver's license with acceptable violation history may be required.
  • Ability to obtain Authorized Project Reviewer status by Terracon preferred
  • Professional Geologist (PG) or Professional Engineer (PE) designation preferred but not required.
