Position Summary

The Supply Planning Manager is responsible for developing and executing supply and materials plans that ensure customer demand is met while optimizing inventory, capacity utilization, and operational performance.

The role serves as the critical link between Demand Planning, Manufacturing, Procurement, Logistics, and Customer Service to translate demand requirements into feasible supply and material plans. The Supply Planning Manager is accountable for balancing service levels, inventory investment, and production constraints while proactively managing supply risks and material availability.

This position plays a key role in supporting the SIOP process by providing supply planning insights, identifying risks and constraints, and driving cross-functional actions to ensure reliable product availability and business continuity.

Key Responsibilities

Supply Planning
  • Develop and maintain short-, medium-, and long-term supply plans aligned with customer demand forecasts.
  • Convert demand requirements into executable production and replenishment plans.
  • Balance demand, production capacity, inventory targets, and service requirements.
  • Monitor supply plan execution and adjust plans based on changing business conditions.

Materials Planning
  • Manage material requirements planning (MRP) to ensure timely material availability.
  • Coordinate closely with Procurement and Suppliers to mitigate material shortages and supply risks.
  • Review inventory levels, safety stock policies, and replenishment parameters.
  • Drive actions to reduce excess, obsolete, and slow-moving inventory.

Inventory Performance
  • Monitor inventory health across raw materials, work in progress and finished goods.
  • Recommend actions to optimize working capital while maintaining customer service levels.
  • Analyze inventory trends and support inventory reduction initiatives.

Capacity & Constraint Management
  • Collaborate with manufacturing teams to understand capacity limitations and production constraints.
  • Identify supply risks and develop mitigation plans.
  • Support scenario planning and management decision-making.

SIOP Support
  • Provide supply planning inputs for monthly SIOP reviews.
  • Participate in demand and supply review meetings.
  • Support balancing supply and demand through fact-based recommendations.
  • Communicate risks, opportunities, and recovery plans to leadership.

Continuous Improvement
  • Improve planning processes, planning parameters, and master data accuracy.
  • Support ERP and planning system optimization initiatives.
  • Develop KPI reporting and planning analytics.
  • Promote best practices in supply and inventory management.

Qualifications & Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in supply chain, Operations Management, Engineering, Business, or related field.
  • 5-8 years of experience in Supply Planning, Materials Planning, Production Planning, Procurement, or Supply Chain Management.
  • Experience within a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience with ERP/MRP systems (Oracle, SAP, JDE or equivalent).
  • Strong understanding of inventory management principles and supply planning methodologies.
  • Experience of participating in SIOP or Integrated Business Planning processes preferred.
