Job Summary
The Murex Environment Manager / Technical Lead will be responsible for the management, stability, availability, and technical support of the Murex MX.3 platform across development, testing, UAT, pre-production, and production environments. This role requires deep expertise in Murex architecture, environment management, release coordination, infrastructure support, and production operations. The successful candidate will provide technical leadership while ensuring platform reliability, operational efficiency, and successful delivery of Murex-related initiatives within a banking environment.
Key Responsibilities
• Manage and maintain all Murex MX.3 environments, including Development, SIT, UAT, Performance Testing, Pre-Production, and Production.
• Ensure platform stability, availability, and readiness across all environments.
• Coordinate environment refreshes, cloning activities, and data migrations.
• Manage environment schedules, resource allocation, booking calendars, and conflict resolution among project teams.
• Serve as the technical lead for Murex platform support and environment management activities.
• Provide technical guidance and support to development, QA, infrastructure, and support teams.
• Lead troubleshooting efforts and root cause analysis for environment, application, and platform-related issues.
• Drive platform enhancements, automation initiatives, and operational improvements.
• Coordinate Murex code deployments, configuration releases, production migrations, and release activities.
• Manage release planning, deployment schedules, rollback strategies, and change management processes.
• Support Murex upgrades, patch management, and package deployments.
• Collaborate with infrastructure teams to manage Linux/Unix servers, Oracle and SQL databases, middleware platforms, messaging systems, batch scheduling tools, file transfer processes, and system integrations.
• Monitor platform health, system performance, storage utilization, and capacity requirements.
• Support high availability, business continuity, and disaster recovery initiatives.
• Manage Murex services, components, grid computing environments, batch processing, interfaces, connectivity, security controls, and environment configurations.
• Troubleshoot system performance issues, bottlenecks, and production outages.
• Support platform modernization and technical improvement initiatives.
• Lead incident management activities and coordinate resolution efforts during critical production incidents.
• Work closely with business stakeholders, support teams, vendors, and technology teams to resolve issues and maintain service levels.
• Perform root cause analysis (RCA) and implement preventative measures to improve platform stability.
• Ensure compliance with service-level agreements (SLAs) and operational standards.
• Drive automation initiatives for environment provisioning, health checks, deployment processes, monitoring, alerting, and batch validation activities.
• Collaborate with DevOps teams to improve CI/CD processes and operational efficiencies.
Required Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Finance Technology, or a related field.
• 8+ years of overall IT experience.
• 5+ years of experience supporting and managing Murex MX.3 environments.
• 5+ years of experience managing multiple Murex environments within enterprise banking or financial services organizations.
• Deep understanding of Murex technical architecture, platform administration, and deployment lifecycle.
• Strong experience with Linux/Unix operating systems and administration.
• Experience working with Oracle and SQL database environments.
• Proficiency in shell scripting and automation practices.
• Experience with scheduling tools, middleware platforms, messaging systems, and system integrations.
• Experience managing production support activities, release management processes, and deployment cycles.
• Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Experience with SDLC, change management, and operational governance processes.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
Preferred Qualifications
• Experience supporting large-scale enterprise trading or capital markets platforms.
• Experience with DevOps methodologies, CI/CD pipelines, and infrastructure automation.
• Experience implementing platform monitoring, alerting, and performance optimization solutions.
• Familiarity with disaster recovery planning and high-availability architecture.
• Experience working with cross-functional teams including Front Office, Market Risk, Operations, Infrastructure, and Production Support.
• Experience leading platform modernization and operational improvement initiatives.
