Position OverviewThe City of Henderson announces an examination to create an eligibility list and to fill one (1) vacancy for the classification of Municipal Forester in the Department of Parks & Recreation. The eligibility list may be utilized to fill vacancies for this classification for up to one (1) year.
Under general direction, assists with developing and managing the City's Municipal Forestry program; works with Parks Operations and Maintenance staff to coordinate forestry program activities and timetables to ensure the protection, inventory, health, and maintenance of trees on City municipal property; coordinates, manages and oversees maintenance contracts; and performs related duties as assigned.
Salary and Benefits- Competitive Salary Range of $76,162.82 - $114,244.24 annually; salary placement for non-represented positions is based on a comprehensive review and takes into consideration that candidate's qualifications as well as internal equity.*

Minimum Qualifications - Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university in Horticulture, Forestry, Environmental Science or a related field
- Three (3) years of experience in municipal/urban forestry or horticulture maintenance
- Two (2) years of experience administering maintenance contracts
- Note: An equivalent combination of related training and experience may be considered
- A valid and current certification as an ISA Certified Arborist®is required at the time of application
- Must possess and maintain a valid State of Nevada or "border state" driver's license, as defined by NRS 483
- Must obtain and maintain the appropriate OSHA card as defined by the Nevada Revised Statue (NRS 618.950) Must obtain and maintain Nevada Pesticide Applicator Certification within one (1) year of hire and as a condition of continued employment
- Must obtain and maintain ISA Certified Urban Forest Professional®Certification within two (2) years of hire and as a condition of continued employment
- All required licenses and certificates, as mandated by local, state, and federal laws, or as required herein, must be obtained and maintained as a condition of continued employment and at the incumbents' expense
