Full Job Description
What You Will Be Doing:

You will own hardware designs for Helion's fusion generator prototypes. You will solve multidisciplinary engineering problems that are necessary for deploying fusion energy to the world and act as a culture driver on a growing team. You will report directly to our Engineering Manager at our Everett, WA office.

You Will:
  • Enhancing Helion's analysis workflow for critical structures (electromagnets)
  • Running transient multiphysics finite-element models to generate margins for critical designs
  • Collaborating with a multidisciplinary engineering team to improve critical hardware designs
  • Learning from in-house experts to expand your skillset into electrical and thermal analysis
  • Building software tools to automate the analysis workflow and allow Helion engineers and scientists to run their own analysis

Required Skills:
  • You have a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, applied mathematics, physics or related field with a minimum of 3 years of engineering experience.
  • Strong background in analytical, computational and numerical simulation methods
  • A foundation of understanding of electromagnetic and thermal finite element modeling
  • Experience in taking on analysis problems from formulation through testing and model correlation.
  • Proficiency with multiphysics finite-element analysis tools such as COSMOL, ANSYS, Opera or equivalent
  • Experience with programming environments (Matlab, Python, etc.) for scripting, tooling or data analysis
  • Desire to positively impact complex structural designs, rather than just execute on analysis
