Primary Purpose:
The Multilingual Instructional Manager ensures that Emergent Bilinguals receive an excellent education that harnesses the assets of their bilingualism and aligns with Uplift's vision for excellence. The Manager drives instructional excellence across both ESL and Dual Language programs, managing a team of ESL and DL Coordinators who support network-wide. Reporting to the Director of Multilingual Programs, the Manager collaborates closely with campus managing directors and academic directors, serving as the primary point of alignment between the Multilingual team, the Schools team, and Curriculum & Instruction leadership on all EB instructional priorities. The Manager leads the network's instructional vision for Tier I ESL and Dual Language initiatives, building teacher and leader capacity through coaching and professional development, and ensuring that multilingual programs, data systems, and instructional frameworks inform outcome-based support. The Manager partners with Curriculum & Instruction and network leadership to ensure strong instructional materials and information sharing across the Multilingual team to strengthen decision-making across all content areas and both program models. The Manager exercises independent judgment in establishing instructional priorities, evaluating program effectiveness, determining appropriate interventions and supports, and recommending adjustments to network-wide multilingual instructional strategies and systems.

Essential Duties/Responsibilties:

Instructional Leadership, Program Management, & People Development (45%)
  • Drive the network vision for Tier I ESL and Dual Language instruction by creating and monitoring network-wide initiatives, ensuring both models are resourced and implemented with fidelity.
  • Manage and develop the ESL and DL Coordinator teams through regular coaching, feedback, and professional development and ensure they are aligned on network priorities and supported in their direct work with campuses.
  • Serve as the liaison between the Multilingual team, the schools team, and C&I leadership at primary and secondary levels, ensuring partnerships are strong and aligned on EB network instructional priorities, ensuring ESL/DL coaching priorities are integrated into broader campus improvement initiatives.
  • Design and deliver network-wide high-quality professional development aligned to ESL and Dual Language instructional priorities for teachers, leaders, and coordinators; serve as a resource to all stakeholders so that Uplift better meets the needs of EB scholars.
  • Partner with campus and network leadership to support implementation of Tier I ESL and Dual Language priorities, including implementation of emergent bilingual best practices and biliteracy development to drive social and academic language proficiency across campuses.
  • Partner with the C&I team to support curriculum selection to support ESL/DL program needs, teacher and leader development, and programming for staff around ESL/DL programming and best practices.
  • Assist with recruiting and onboarding Multilingual team staff

Content Leadership & Information Sharing (20%)
  • Design differentiated materials for secondary curriculum, while ensuring ELPS alignment, in designated content area, in partnership with Curriculum & Instruction Specialists.
  • Synthesize field observations and instructional data across coordinators and campuses to inform network-wide curriculum decisions and professional development.
  • Participate in curriculum review and feedback cycles, bringing field-level implementation insights from the ML team to inform content and instructional material decisions.
  • Partner with Multilingual Programs Manager to design coherent EB Intervention and Newcomer support systems

Data Analysis, Systems, & Instructional Decision-Making (20%)
  • Manage network-wide EB data reporting on a regularly established cadence via streamlined communication.
  • Analyze network assessment data; lead data-informed instructional strategy conversations with coordinators and network leaders to drive targeted EB support.
  • Present EB scholar outcome data to Multilingual leadership monthly; evaluate and suggest instructional adjustments to initiatives to best serve scholar needs.

Program Compliance & Operations (15%)
  • Collaborate with Multilingual Compliance Manager and other ML team members to ensure streamlined program implementation and compliance across campuses-including identification and reclassification for Emergent Bilinguals, including beginning-of-year testing, and end-of-year testing, and additional support as needed.
  • Abide by and support implementation of all policies established by federal and state law, State Board of Education rule, and local board policy; stay abreast of current and impending legislation and recommend instructional changes as needed.
  • Support teachers in obtaining ESL and bilingual certification (as needed); lead in-house certification preparation programming a minimum of each semester.
  • Submit requisitions for the Multilingual team, utilizing the bilingual/ESL and Title III funds, and act as a liaison between the finance team and Multilingual team, documenting requests as needed


Education, Experience, and/or Certification(s)
  • Education Requirements: Bachelor's degree (B.A./B.S.) from an accredited college or university required. Master's degree is preferred but not required.
  • Experience Requirements: Bilingual Spanish required. Minimum of three years of successful teaching experience required. Minimum of two years of adult leadership required.
  • Special Skills/Certifications: Must have a valid Texas Teacher Certification with endorsement in Bilingual education


Physical Demands: Prolonged sitting; occasional bending/stooping, pushing/pulling, and twisting; repetitive hand motions including frequent keyboarding and use of mouse; occasional reaching; occasional light lifting and carrying (less than 15 pounds)

Work Environment: Standard office environment, though role requires frequent visits to multiple campuses across the DFW metroplex. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required based on organizational, campus, and program needs.

Starting Salary: $100,000
