What You Will Do- This classification requires the inspection of all types of machined parts, aircraft parts, sub-assemblies, assemblies, and installations, development parts and assemblies, vendor manufactured parts, materials, all types of tooling, master gages, master models and development parts, etc., for workmanship, dimensional accuracy, and interchangeability.
- Sets up and operates all types of numerically controlled multi-axis drilling machines.
- Exercises a thorough knowledge of various types of machine control units and systems.
- Sets up and operates machines to perform any operation within the capacity of the equipment.
- Mounts holding fixtures and sets up targets to worktables; positions, aligns and fastens parts in fixtures, chucks or directly to work tables; mounts drills to spindles.
- Loads or activates control units, makes required control settings and aligns spindles to set up targets using dial indicators as required.
- Makes intermediate set-ups changes as programmed.
- Selects and hones drill tools and cutters to specifications using safety precautions and tools specified.
- Selects proper stylus and drills.
- Observes drilling process and watches for functional variations in machines or control units and notifies supervision of malfunctions.
- Makes periodic checks on parts to ensure dimensional accuracy in order to establish drill change cycle.
- Verifies new drill accuracy by making comparison checks after drill changes.
- Sets up and operates equipment to perform close tolerance conventional drilling operations such as drilling compound angles using holding fixtures, etc.
- Works from blueprints, sketches, and other authorized documents.
- Checks own work for conformance to specifications.
- Uses overhead cranes in conjunction with the work described herein.
- Uses the necessary equipment, tools and materials required to perform the work described herein.
- Maintains good shop practice.
Qualifications You Must Have - Typically requires HS diploma (or equivalent, e.g. G.E.D. in the US) or vocational/technical education in related discipline
- Experience setting up and operating various types of cnc drilling machines.
- Experience performing measurements with precision measurement tools, such as gauges, micrometers and calipers.
- Experience reading and interpreting blueprints, sketches, manufacturing outline sheets, etc.
Qualifications We Prefer- Experience with G&M codes, Macro programming and editing process.

The salary range for this role is $25.13/hr USD - $53.69/hr USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
