Job Description: MRI Lead Technologist - North- Ensures image quality, excellence in patient care and uninterrupted work flow.
- Maintains technical aspects of radiation safety
- Ensure ACR accreditation on all scanners
- Respond to PeerVue audits of MI exams for Quality Improvement Analysis
- Assist with development as needed for new protocols and procedures within the MI department
- Implements and supervises radiation safety policies and procedures to ensure safety of personnel
- Maintain awareness of current issues in radiation safety for patients.
- Assure legal requirements are met for handling and disposing of radioactive materials
- Assure compliance with regulations. Maintain records for established guidelines for radiation safety including: daily and weekly monitoring the appropriate disposable of contaminated trash, syringes and vials.
- Assure that protocols meet existing standards regarding radiation safety standards.
- Educate MI staff and others regarding new quality initiatives within the Radiology department
- Monitor patient documentation for timely completion and accuracy
- Proficient in all aspects of maintaining the Hot Lab
- Proficient in all aspects of the RAM license
- Oversee quality control testing, equipment maintenance and trouble shooting
- Assure Daily QA and Phantom QA scans are run and accurately recorded in log book
- Recommend new equipment, equipment modification
- Serve as a resource to department staff as well as other members of DuPage Medical Group as needed
- Participate in on-going service and process improvement efforts
- Assign workers to prepare radiopharmaceuticals, perform nuclear medicine studies, and conduct laboratory tests
- Monitors activities to ensure efficiency and accuracy of procedures
- Write computer protocols for diagnostic studies
- Develop protocols for new and revised procedures
- Train staff technologists in overall operation of department and use of equipment
- Provide technical direction/functional advice and direct supervision to staff
- Interact and communicate with physicians, support staff, and other health care professionals to facilitate departmental operations
- Schedule work assignments
- Perform staff orientation, training, and coaching
- Provide input to staff performance evaluations
- Assist in coordinating activities with other departments and in resolving operating problems

EDUCATION and / or CERTIFICATION/LICENSURE:- Graduate of an accredited education program in radiology technology required.
- Registered in one of the Nuclear Medicine Technology certifications board; ARRT-N, NMTCB
- Maintain IEMA license
- BLS - Basic Life Support, AED Adult & Pediatric CPR required.
EXPERIENCE:- Three (3) - five (5) years related experience in the field of Molecular Imaging with at least 1 year of team leader or supervisory experience
The compensation for this role includes a base pay range of $37-54/hour, with the actual pay determined by factors such as skills, experience, education, certifications, geographic location, and internal equity. Additional compensation may be available through shift differentials, bonuses, and other incentives. Base pay is only a portion of the total rewards package.
