Full Job Description
The MOWP & SAP Specialist will play a key role in driving improvements across the full maintenance process at LyondellBasell's manufacturing sites. This position will support and optimize all core maintenance workflows, including work identification, prioritization, planning, scheduling, execution, closeout, and continuous improvement, ensuring consistency, efficiency, and operational excellence. A critical aspect of this role is strengthening the planning and scheduling discipline. The MOWP & SAP Specialist will help improve planning accuracy and effectiveness, ensure that standardized planning and scheduling processes and tools are deployed and used across all sites, and work closely with site personnel to identify the most effective strategies to maximize productivity and time on tools. This role will maintain direct engagement with site maintenance teams, including planners, schedulers, supervisors, and reliability personnel, to improve process performance, share best practices, and jointly develop solutions to recurring challenges. The MOWP & SAP Specialist will also identify, track, and report key metrics that monitor maintenance process effectiveness. In addition, this position will serve as a deep SAP PM expert, acting as the primary owner of the SAP PM module for maintenance work processes. The MOWP & SAP Specialist will work closely with site teams to standardize and continuously improve how maintenance processes are executed within SAP, ensuring accurate master data, consistent use of functionality, and alignment between system design and real-world practices. This role will ensure that SAP effectively supports field maintenance activities, drives efficient work execution, and meets broader operational and business needs. A Day in the Life • Analyze maintenance work processes at manufacturing sites, identify inefficiencies or gaps against MOWP standard, and partner with site teams to implement improvements. • Assess site maintenance organizations, including planning, scheduling, staffing, skills, and overall process capability, and identify opportunities to strengthen performance. • Work with sites to close gaps across the full maintenance workflow by proposing solutions, supporting implementation, and facilitating adoption of best practices. • Develop methodologies and best practices to improve the accuracy of time and cost estimates through the use of standards, norms, specialized software, and field experience. • Create and maintain procedures, training materials, and step-by-step guidance to support high-quality planning, scheduling, execution, and closeout activities. • Identify key performance indicators that measure the effectiveness of maintenance work processes and monitor site performance using these metrics. • Analyze trends in maintenance performance, collaborate with site teams to identify root causes, and support the development of corrective and improvement actions. • Serve as the owner of the SAP PM module for maintenance work processes, ensuring consistent process design, and effective system usage across all sites. • Act as the primary interface between IT and manufacturing sites for SAP PM enhancements, ensuring that system changes support operational needs and align with maintenance work process requirements. • Drive continuous improvement of SAP PM functionality by gathering user feedback, defining business requirements, supporting testing activities, and coordinating deployment with IT. You Bring This Value • A minimum of 10 years of experience in chemical plant or refinery operations or maintenance is preferred. • At least 5 years of experience in a maintenance planning, scheduling, or supervisory role in a chemical plant or refinery environment. • Knowledge of major planning and scheduling tools such as Primavera, Prometheus Scheduler, Microsoft Project, or similar software. • Advanced knowledge of SAP PM (Plant Maintenance) and MM (Materials Management). Experience with SAP PS (Project System) is preferred but not required. • Ability to work with IT and SAP teams to define requirements and optimize system functionality. • Strong understanding of the full maintenance lifecycle, including work identification, prioritization, planning, scheduling, execution, and closeout, along with applicable company policies and HSE requirements. • Experience developing, tracking, and analyzing maintenance KPIs, with the ability to use data to drive decisions and identify performance gaps. • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with experience applying continuous improvement methodologies. • Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence stakeholders and drive change across site organizations. • Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills, with the ability to network and work cross-functionally with Operations, Technology, Maintenance, and Training organizations. • Ability to travel domestically and internationally up to 15 percent of the time.
