Full Job Description
Yamaha has an excellent opportunity for a Motorsports Strategy & Planning Specialist to join our Motorsports team. The Specialist supports the development and execution of Yamaha Motorsports' strategic direction, translating corporate objectives into actionable mid-term (MTP) and long-term (LTP) business plans. This position translates complex internal and external information into actionable recommendations, scenarios, and executive-level decision-support materials. Working cross-functionally with Product Planning, Business Management, Finance, Sales, Marketing, and global stakeholders, the role supports MTP/LTP development, strategic performance monitoring, and the evaluation of growth opportunities and business risks.

What you'll be doing:
  • Support the development of Motorsports mid- and long-term business strategies, including environmental assessment, strategic issue identification, scenario development, and evaluation of alternative strategic pathways.
  • Integrate market trends, customer research, competitive activity, industry developments, dealer insights, and internal business data to identify opportunities, risks, unmet customer needs, and implications for Motorsports strategy.
  • Develop long-term market, segment, and product-category forecasts using historical performance, market indicators, customer trends, competitive assumptions, and alternative business scenarios.
  • Prepare executive-level presentations, briefing materials, and business review documents that support leadership decision-making and executive planning cycles.
  • Consolidate market intelligence, financial data, and competitive insights into clear, actionable strategic recommendations for senior leadership.
  • Partner with Business Management, Product Planning, Finance, Sales, and Marketing to align plans, gather planning inputs, and translate strategy into actionable priorities.
  • Develop planning tools, templates, and dashboards that improve the quality, consistency, and efficiency of the strategic planning process.
  • Lead or support special projects, business-case development, and ad-hoc analysis for senior leadership as strategic priorities evolve.
  • Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills, with the ability to translate complex data into clear, actionable insights.
  • Ability to translate market, customer, competitive, operational, and financial information into clear strategic implications

What you need to be successful:
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Marketing, or a related field required; MBA or advanced degree preferred.
  • 5-7 years of progressive experience in strategy, business planning, financial planning & analysis, business intelligence, or a related analytical function, preferably within powersports, automotive, or consumer-durable industries.
  • Demonstrated experience supporting mid- and long-term planning cycles and preparing executive-level materials.
  • Demonstrated experience integrating quantitative and qualitative information into strategic recommendations and executive-level materials.
  • Preferred Experience in motorsports (ATV/SxS/MCY/SMB); exposure to international or cross-cultural business coordination; and prior project-management or people-leadership experience.
  • Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills, with the ability to translate complex data into clear, actionable insights.
  • Ability to translate market, customer, competitive, operational, and financial information into clear strategic implications
  • Experience with market sizing, forecasting, scenario planning, business-case development, and strategic performance measurement
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint and Excel; experience with business intelligence and data-visualization tools (e.g., Power BI) preferred.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a proven ability to build executive-level presentations and briefing materials.
  • Strong project-coordination and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Strong executive communication, presentation, and stakeholder-management skills.
