The Opportunity:
CACI is looking for a Model Based Systems Engineer (MBSE) to work closely with a talented team to deliver a complex software application into operations.
As a MBSE, you will play a critical role in the development and integration of software systems by applying model-based approaches to define, analyze, and manage system requirements and designs in an Agile software development context..
This position emphasizes the use of digital engineering practices and tools (such as SysML and Dassault Cameo System modeler) to capture and manage system models, enabling improved traceability, integration, and validation of system requirements. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including software engineers, test engineers, and program managers, to ensure consistency across disciplines and alignment with customer expectations.
Responsibilities:
• Develop and maintain system architecture and design models using MBSE tools and methodologies.
• Perform requirement traceability, impact analysis, and design validation through model simulations.
• Support trade studies, system decomposition, and design reviews with digital artifacts.
• Provide technical direction and requirement transparency across development teams
• Performing requirements management including requirements creation, tracking, flow down, coverage, verification tracking, compliance matrices, etc.
• Developing test procedures to formally verify system requirements for sell off events
• Decomposing system requirements and collaborating with multi-disciplined, distributed teams to generate efficient and scalable solutions
• Supporting the development, implementation, and verification of mission capabilities
• Participating in the development and execution of program milestones events such as Customer meetings, internal and formal Government testing events, and discrepancy report (DR) review boards
• Conducting testing events of software solutions and generating Test result documentation
Qualifications:
Required:
• 5 years of professional experience working in systems engineering with at least 1 year applying Model Based Systems Engineering principles
• Proficiency with MBSE tools such as Cameo Systems Modeler, IBM Rhapsody, or Enterprise Architect
• Working knowledge of SysML
• Experience developing and managing system requirements, interface definitions, and verification plans
• Ability to develop requirements
• Ability to develop test procedures that verify requirements
• Ability to develop traceability between requirements, code, and verification
• Effective cross-organizational communicator with the ability to work well in a small team, fast paced environment
• Working knowledge of Scrum and Agile Software Development Methodology
• Bachelor’s Degree in Systems Engineering, Computer Science, or related engineering field
• U.S. Citizenship with an active Secret security clearance
Desired:
• OMG SysML Model Builder Fundamental and/or OMG SysML Model User certificate
• Strong understanding of digital engineering, model integration, and system simulation techniques
• Current IAT Level II or III certification (i.e. Security+)
• Experience integrating system models
• Experience with UAF and/or Magic Grid frameworks
• Experience with using automated tests to sell off formal requirement verification
• Experience with government Site Acceptance process and procedures
• Experience in working with software-defined interfaces that use either XML or JSON to both document and implement
• Experience with SATCOM or GEOINT systems
• Demonstrated excellent interpersonal skills and engage with virtual teams
• Demonstrated business acumen and ability to balance technical requirements with business needs
• Familiarity with Cloud Architectures and deployment requirements for US DoD

• Experience in the operational deployment of multi-product baselines and functionality
• Experience developing a software architect using digital tools

• Experience with Gitlab, JIRA, or other agile management software.
Pay Range:
