About the RoleWe're looking for a Mobile Developer to build and enhance video streaming experiences for Android and iOS. You'll own key components of our OTT mobile architecture, guiding product, design, and engineering teams to deliver exceptional video playback, performance, and user experiences at scale.
What You'll Own/Do: - Lead Mobile Development: Architect, develop, and maintain high-performance mobile video applications for OTT platforms on Android and iOS.
- Drive Technical Direction: Define best practices for code quality, modularization, and performance optimization across mobile codebases.
- Mentor & Collaborate: Provide technical mentorship to junior developers and collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to deliver complex features.
- Prototype & Innovate: Evaluate new technologies and streaming frameworks, rapidly prototype solutions, and guide adoption of emerging mobile capabilities.
- Ensure Delivery Excellence: Translate business and design requirements into reliable, maintainable, and scalable mobile solutions that perform flawlessly in production.
What We Require for this Role:- 3+ years of experience developing Android and/or iOS applications.
- Deep expertise with Java and the Android SDK; Kotlin and Jetpack Compose experience is a plus.
- Experience building modular, customizable UI frameworks or plugin architectures.
- Solid understanding of RESTful APIs, JSON, and video playback technologies (HLS/DASH).
- Experience architecting modular, reusable UI frameworks or plugin architectures.
- Proven track record of delivering performant, user-centric mobile apps at scale.
Bonus Points for Candidates Who Have:- Experience with live or VOD video streaming platforms
- Cross-platform development experience (Android/iOS/Smart TV: Tizen, WebOS).
- Familiarity with iOS (Objective-C, Swift, or SwiftUI).
- Understanding of multimedia transport protocols (e.g., RTP, RTMP, SRT, UDP, HLS/DASH).
- Top-Tier Education:You hold a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field from a 4-yr accredited institution globally ranked in the top 500 universities.

The Pay Range For This Role Is75,000 - 115,000 CAD per year (Vancouver)
