Applications will be accepted on an ongoing basis until the requisition is closed.

This role supports the development and operations of New Glenn, a single-configuration, heavy-lift orbital launch vehicle capable of routinely carrying people and payloads to low-Earth orbit, geostationary transfer orbit, cislunar, and beyond. Its first stage is fully reusable, and the vehicle was designed from the beginning to be human-capable.

We are a dynamic team of collaborators, doers, and problem-solvers who are relentlessly committed to a culture of safety. This position will directly impact the history of space exploration and will require your commitment and detailed attention towards safe and repeatable space flight. Join us in lowering the cost of access to space and enabling Blue Origin's vision of millions of people living and working in space to benefit Earth.

As a part of a small, cross-functional team responsible for launch IT and communications infrastructure, you'll be instrumental in supporting hardware-in-the-loop integration and remote launch operations for Blue Origin's first orbital class rocket and space vehicles. This is a hands-on position focused on supporting critical communications equipment and ensuring our internal customers receive the prompt and effective communications systems support necessary for building the road to space.

We are looking for someone to apply their technical expertise, leadership skills, and dedication to quality to positively impact safe human spaceflight. Passion for our mission and vision is required!

Responsibilities:
  • Configure, deploy, and maintain mission-critical systems including:
    • Voice communications (IP & analog)
    • Public address systems (IP & analog)
    • Land mobile radio (IP, digital & analog)
    • Operations/mission video (cameras, transport, distribution, control & recording)
    • Critical timing systems (NTP, PTP, GPS, IRIG, PPS)
  • Plan and maintain Layer 1 copper and fiber cabling documentation.
  • Provide operational support, troubleshooting, and end-user issue resolution in time-sensitive, high-visibility environments.
  • Troubleshoot network issues and escalate with relevant data (pcaps, logs, quantitative metrics) to engineering teams.
  • Support configuration management through detailed work instructions, engineering drawings, and ICDs (Interface Control Documents).
  • Manage inventory, including asset tracking, spares procurement, restocking, and deployment.
  • Build fault-tolerant, on-prem infrastructure tailored to unique customer requirements for data systems control and monitoring.
  • Provide secondary support for specialized systems including weather monitoring, fiber/RF distribution, PKI, and datacenter facilities.
  • Occasionally support overtime, overnight operations, and travel as needed for test, launch, and deployed ground systems campaigns

Required Qualifications (2-5 Years Experience):
  • Linux and Windows server/desktop environment management.
  • Building and managing SNMP monitoring solutions.
  • Practical knowledge of standard network protocols (DHCP, DNS, NPS, SQL, SMTP, NFS).
  • Technical documentation and procedure writing.
  • Active Directory management, including account automation scripting.
  • Hardware troubleshooting; workstation and server assembly/reconfiguration.
  • Web server management with basic HTML, JavaScript, and SQL proficiency.
  • Ability to climb ladders, work at elevation, and lift/install heavy equipment.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Quintron DICES VoIP
  • Haivision IPTV encoders/decoders
  • Microsemi timing systems
  • Motorola MOTO TRBO
  • QSC Audio Systems
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science or Electrical Engineering.
