This position provides an opportunity for an experienced mineral land professional to apply their expertise in a dynamic environment with significant drilling, development, acquisition, abandonment, and optimization activity.

As a trusted technical resource, the successful candidate will support the broader team, contribute to process improvements, and help protect and optimize the value and integrity of the mineral land portfolio throughout the asset lifecycle. • Lead annual and ongoing mineral expiry reviews, continuation planning, and related regulatory submissions.
  • Collaborate with Geologists, Reservoir Engineers, Operations, Land Negotiators, and partners to identify and execute mineral continuation and development opportunities.
  • Review proposed drilling and development programs, well locations, ownership structures, and mineral rights to provide recommendations that support business and capital investment decisions.
  • Prepare and coordinate mineral land documentation, including continuations, caveats, transfers, withdrawals, discharges, Crown postings, and land sale activities.
  • Provide mineral land support for acquisitions, dispositions, due diligence, and other portfolio optimization activities.
  • Maintain and enhance mineral land procedures, work instructions, data governance practices, and processes, identifying opportunities to improve efficiency and standardization.
  • Maintain the integrity of mineral land data and systems by investigating discrepancies, resolving ownership issues, and providing reports, maps, and analysis to support informed business decisions.

Who you are:

Our ideal candidate will have the following minimum requirements:
  • Legally authorized to work in Canada
  • 8+ years of progressive mineral land administration experience within the Canadian oil and gas industry.
  • Extensive experience administering Alberta Crown and Freehold mineral interests.

  • Experience supporting active drilling, development, acquisition, and asset optimization programs.
  • Proficiency with CS Land, ETS/SPIN/IRIS, StackDX, and other relevant industry land systems.
  • Graduate of a recognized Land Administration program or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience; active LEMAC membership is considered an asset.
