YOUR NEXT CHALLENGE:Reporting to the Mine Planning Superintendent, you will be a part of the Technical Services Team. You will play an essential role in supporting the accuracy, efficiency, and safety of our open-pit operation. Your work will contribute directly to daily production success and long-term mine planning.
Survey & Mapping
- Perform open-pit site surveying and mapping to support safe and efficient operations
- Conduct topographic surveys using UAV technology to capture accurate site data
Production Support
- Lay out production drill patterns, restricted areas, dig limits, ore boundaries, and dump limits
- Pick up drilled production, toe and wall limits, and monitor subsidence or stability changes
- Verify field pick-ups for design compliance and assist with grade floor evaluations
Design & Planning
- Update pit and site status maps and prepare monthly volume calculation reports
- Support the layout of blast patterns, RC holes, and maintain blast master drawings
- Provide guidance for the construction of new ramps, roads, and other key infrastructure
- Provide expertise to ensure our teams operate safely, efficiently, and in alignment with engineering requirements
WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED- Postsecondary Degree or Diploma in Surveying, or a comparable blend of education and practical experience;
- Approximately five years of surveying experience - open-pit experience is an asset but not mandatory;
- Proficiency with 3D mine planning and design software (Maptek experience preferred);
- Clear, confident verbal and written communication skills.
Capabilities
- Comfortable working outdoors for most of the rotation, with support and appropriate PPE provided;
- Physically able to lift and carry surveying equipment (up to 50 lbs);
- Demonstrated commitment to maintaining a safe work environment;
- Experience in remote mine operations is an advantage.
Your Work Schedule:
- Rotation: 7/7 schedule at our Detour Lake Site;
- Accommodations: Private accommodations and meals provided on site at no cost;
- Travel: Transportation is provided to and from the mine site. Additional travel expenses may be covered depending on your Canadian residence location;
