Full Job Description
Work Shift Job Summary:

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Midwife, Women's Health Nurse Practitioner (WHNP), or Acute Care Certified Advanced Practice Provider (APP) to join our OB Emergency Department (ED) team at Wellstar MCG in Augusta, GA. As a key member of our front-line care team, you will be responsible for triaging, evaluating, and managing a range of obstetric cases, collaborating with OB/GYN physicians, residents, and other healthcare professionals to deliver exceptional care.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Front-Line Triage:Conduct initial evaluations, medical screenings, and assess labor, vaginal bleeding, and other obstetric concerns.

  • Clinical Management:Perform cervical exams, fetal monitoring, and initiate appropriate workup (labs, NST, ultrasound). Provide clinical management for lower to moderate complaints, always consulting with an OB/GYN for high-risk cases.

  • Collaboration:Work in tandem with OB/GYN teams to coordinate care for antepartum patients and collaborate on patient management.

Qualifications:

  • Licensed or eligible for licensure in the State of Georgia

  • Graduation from an accredited Nurse Midwifery or WHNP program.

  • Must be a certified Midwife, WHNP, or Acute Care Certified APP (Advanced Practice Provider).

  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment while collaborating with a multidisciplinary team.

  • Strong clinical skills in obstetrics and gynecology, including labor and delivery triage and management.

  • Previous experience preferred, but new graduates with L&D experience are welcome to apply.

Work Schedule:

  • Shifts:3-12 hour shifts per week, open to 24-hour shifts.

  • Nights and Weekend Coverage

  • OB ED is located in the Labor & Delivery unit, with one provider on shift at a time.
