Nuvance/Northwell Health - Vassar Brothers Medical Center Regional Midwife Director (Up to $30,000 sign on!)

Job Description

Summary:

The Regional Midwife Director provides strategic, clinical, and operational leadership for the midwifery practice serving Vassar Brothers Medical Center as well as ambulatory clinical sites in Poughkeepsie, Fishkill, and Highland. This role is responsible for the oversight, mentorship, and performance management of site-based midwives, ensuring the delivery of high-quality, evidence-based, patient-centered maternity and gynecologic care across the region.

Working collaboratively with site physician and nursing leaders, hospital administration, and the system women's health leadership team, the Regional Midwife Director supports alignment of clinical standards, staffing models, quality initiatives, and professional practice across sites while maintaining an active clinical presence. This role will function as 0.8 clinical and 0.2 administrative FTE with an anticipated schedule of one 24-hour in-house call shift and one 8-hour clinical office day per week.

Education, Skills and Experience:

  • Certified Nurse Midwife (CNM) or Certified Midwife (CM) with current New York State licensure (or eligibility for NY licensure)
  • Graduate of an accredited midwifery education program
  • Active AMCB board certification
  • Minimum of 5 years of clinical midwifery experience
  • Demonstrated leadership or supervisory experience in a healthcare setting
  • Strong communication, coaching, and change management skills

Preferred Experience:

  • Prior experience as a Midwife Director, Lead Midwife, or equivalent leadership role
  • Experience in multi-site or regional program leadership
  • Experience with quality improvement, safety initiatives, and interdisciplinary care models

Salary:($130,000-$230,000/yr.) commensurate with experience.
