DWF (formerly Whitelaw Twining) is hiring a Litigation Associate with at least five years of post-call experience to join our Vancouver office. This opportunity is ideal for a lawyer with experience handling property-related claims on behalf of private insurers. We are looking for a lawyer who enjoys taking ownership of files, building trusted client relationships, and delivering practical, business-focused legal solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Manage a diverse portfolio of property-related insurance litigation matters.
  • Act for private insurers on complex property loss, coverage, recovery, and liability disputes.
  • Handle claims arising from fire, water damage, theft, equipment or product failure, business interruption, and other significant losses.
  • Develop litigation strategy and provide practical, strategic advice from file inception through resolution.
  • Conduct examinations for discovery, mediations, arbitrations, court appearances, and trials.
  • Work closely with adjusters, brokers, engineers, accountants, and other experts.
  • Build strong insurer relationships through responsive, solutions-oriented client service.
  • Contribute to business development and the continued growth of the practice.

Compensation

Ranging from $183,000 - $205,000 depending upon year of call and experience.
