Full Job Description
Mid-Level Systems/Software Engineer to support the Systems Readiness Directorate (SRD). This position is located in Huntsville, AL.

Job Responsibilities/Duties:
  • Support the development and implementation of system safety and airworthiness programs.
  • Apply DO-178C principles to support system airworthiness activities.
  • Coordinate with cross-functional engineering teams to support system airworthiness compliance.
  • Support Agile software development and MBSE-based engineering activities as required.
  • Maintain system safety documentation supporting engineering programs.
  • Develop tools in support of MV-75 Digital Engineering objectives.
  • Other duties as assigned.


Required Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Systems Engineering, Safety Engineering, or related discipline).
  • Three (3) to 10 years of relevant engineering experience.
  • Working knowledge of Army Aviation airworthiness principles, hazard mitigation techniques, and risk analysis.
  • Experience supporting risk analysis activities for engineering systems.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to support multiple assignments.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in using Microsoft Office tools.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen and have the ability to obtain/maintain a DoD security clearance.
  • Must be able to travel up to 15% of the time.


Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience applying system airworthiness policies within engineering programs.
  • Familiarity with Agile software development environments.
  • Experience with Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE).
  • Familiarity with Army aviation systems.
  • Experience using engineering collaboration tools such as Jira, Confluence, Cameo, or MagicDraw.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and be self-motivated.Strong written and oral communication skills.
