Mid-Level Solutions Architect

Federal Civilian Sector - Office of the Chief Technology Officer

Peraton is seeking an experienced mid-level Solutions Architect to join our team. The ideal candidate is a hands-on technical contributor on federal civilian pursuits, supporting Senior and Principal Architects in developing enterprise solution architectures. You contribute architecture content, develop technical artifacts, support solutioning sessions, and assist in proposal development across a range of pursuit sizes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Contribute to solution architecture development on federal civilian pursuits across a range of sizes, working under the direction of Senior or Principal Architects.
  • Develop architecture components in one or more domains: cloud, application modernization, cybersecurity, data/AI, IT operations, DevSecOps, or managed services.
  • Support technical solutioning sessions with capture teams, partners, and SMEs - capturing decisions, drafting follow-up content, and producing artifacts.
  • Author technical proposal content (sections, diagrams, tables) under review of senior solution leads.
  • Develop architecture artifacts including system diagrams, data flows, integration approaches, and transition plans.
  • Research emerging technologies, vendor capabilities, and competitive positioning to support solution decisions.
  • Participate in customer engagements to develop understanding of mission requirements and technology environments.
  • Evaluate Peraton Labs capabilities and partner technologies for inclusion in solutions.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, IT, or related field
  • Five (5)+ years in enterprise IT solution architecture, systems engineering, or technical delivery preferred.
  • 2+ years contributing to solution design on enterprise IT pursuits or programs.
  • Hands-on experience in at least two architecture domains: cloud (AWS/Azure/GCP/OCI), application modernization, cybersecurity, data/AI-ML, IT operations, DevSecOps, enterprise platforms, etc.
  • Experience translating customer requirements into technical solution components.
  • Familiarity with federal acquisition processes and compliance frameworks (FedRAMP, FISMA, NIST).
  • Solid technical writing and communication skills; able to articulate architecture decisions clearly to mixed audiences.
  • U.S. Citizenship required; must have the ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Cybersecurity, or related field.
  • Experience with federal civilian agencies.
  • Professional certifications: AWS Solutions Architect Associate, Azure Solutions Architect Associate, Security+, CCSP, or similar.
  • Exposure to generative AI, agentic AI, post-quantum cryptography, AIOps, or other emerging technologies.
  • Background in Agile/SAFe delivery, DevSecOps CI/CD, or ITIL service management.


Target Salary Range

$104,000 - $166,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position. Salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the position, the individual's experience, education, knowledge, skills, and competencies, as well as geographic location and business and contract considerations. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.
