Job Description

Strategic ACI is seeking a Mid-Computer Vision Scientist to support AI/ML Test & Evaluation (T&E) activities for mission-focused national security programs. The Mid Computer Vision Scientist collaborates closely with AI/ML Test Engineers, data scientists, and development teams to evaluate computer vision models, assess model performance, and support operationally relevant testing activities across a range of mission scenarios.

This role applies technical expertise in computer vision, AI/ML model evaluation, and performance analysis to support the development and refinement of T&E tools, metrics, and methodologies. The scientist conducts technical reviews of evaluation frameworks and provides detailed feedback on model performance, limitations, and operational suitability to support mission-driven AI capability assessments.

The position supports MT&E initiatives and requires coordination with multidisciplinary technical teams operating in dynamic mission environments.

Salary will be commensurate within the advertised range, based on applicable qualifications.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with AI/ML Test Engineers and technical teams to evaluate computer vision models in operationally representative environments.
  • Utilize T&E tools, metrics, and evaluation frameworks to assess model accuracy, performance, robustness, and operational effectiveness.
  • Conduct technical reviews of computer vision evaluation tools, methodologies, and performance metrics.
  • Analyze model outputs, identify performance limitations, and provide actionable technical feedback to development teams.
  • Support development and refinement of AI/ML T&E methodologies, evaluation criteria, and assessment approaches.
  • Provide recommendations to improve model performance, evaluation workflows, and mission alignment.
  • Support parallel testing and evaluation efforts across multiple AI/ML models, datasets, and mission scenarios.
  • Contribute to technical reports, assessment findings, and customer briefings related to model evaluation outcomes.
  • Coordinate with engineers, scientists, and mission stakeholders to support evolving operational requirements and testing priorities.

Qualifications:

Required:

  • Active TS/SCI clearance and the ability to pass a CI polygraph within 30 days.
  • Bachelor's Degree in IT or STEM related field, or additional relevant experience in lieu of a degree.
  • 4+ years of experience supporting computer vision, AI/ML model evaluation, or data analysis initiatives.
  • Familiarity with AI/ML testing methodologies, evaluation metrics, and model performance assessment techniques.
  • Ability to conduct technical analysis and provide detailed evaluation feedback in support of mission objectives.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Desired:

  • Experience supporting DoD, NGA, or Intelligence Community programs.
  • Familiarity with operational AI/ML testing, mission-focused evaluation activities, and T&E environments.
  • Experience working in Agile, DevSecOps, or cloud-based development environments.
  • Familiarity with computer vision frameworks, datasets, and operational AI workflows.
  • Experience supporting multidisciplinary engineering and data science teams.
