MS fabric Data Engineer Role

  1. Overview of The Role

The Data Engineer is responsible for designing, building, and supporting scalable, secure, and high-performance analytics solutions on the Microsoft Fabric platform. This role combines strong technical depth with business acumen to translate evolving business needs into trusted data products.

The individual will play a key role in shaping and executing our clients modern BI and analytics strategy.

  • Partnerclosely with stakeholders to translate business requirements intoFabric-based data models, pipelines, and analytical solutions
  • Contributeto the end-to-end design and evolution of a scalable enterprise analyticsarchitecture using Microsoft Fabric
  • Collaboratewith Business SMEs and technical teams (Infrastructure, Security,Dynamics, external) to design and deliver sustainable, governed analyticssolutions
  • Assist withpreparation and facilitation of design workshops with documented outcomes(requirements, design, data models)
  • Ensuresolutions are scalable, secure, cost-effective, and aligned with data& ai strategy
  • Designand develop high-performance data engineering components capable ofprocessing large volumes of structured and semi-structured data
  • Buildreusable, enterprise-grade data models (Lakehouse and semantic models)aligned with architectural standards and best practices
  • Contributeto administration, governance, and operational health of the MicrosoftFabric platform
  • Defineand execute test strategies, including data validation, performancetuning, and data profiling
  • MonitorFabric pipelines, data refreshes, and workloads, proactively troubleshootand resolve issues
  • Ownincident resolution and day-to-day sustainment of Fabric analyticssolutions

  • Strongfoundation in:
  • Dataingestion and integration

  • Fabric Ingestion(Data Factory, Pipelines, Dataflow Gen1, Dataflow Gen2, CopyJob, Notebooks, EventStream, Spark JobDefinition, Spark structure streaming)
  • Fabric Orchestration (ApacheAirflow)
  • DataEngineering Languages (Py-Spark/Spark SQL /KQL)
  • Experiencewith Azure analytics services, including:
  • AzureData Factory
  • AzureSynapse Analytics
  • AzureData Lake Storage
  • AzureDatabricks (where applicable)
  • Developmentusing Python and Spark notebooks
  • Understandingof data modeling skills, including dimensional modeling (Kimball / starschema)
  • AdvancedSQL skills for analytical workloads
  • Goodunderstanding of Power BI
