Microsoft Dynamics Developer (Hybrid)Starting Salary Range: $80,000-$135,000
The State Corporation Commission (SCC) seeks a Microsoft Dynamics Developer to join our modernization team in the Enterprise Technology Services (ETS) Division. Located in downtown Richmond, the SCC is an independent state agency that balances the interests of citizens, businesses, and customers in regulating Virginia's business and economic concerns. The Dynamics Developer plays a pivotal role in designing, configuring, and building business applications on Dynamics 365 and the Microsoft Power Platform, spanning both application configuration and custom user interface development. This position offers a hybrid work schedule, which includes 3 days in office and 2 telework days each week, as well as a variety of professional development and training opportunities.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Design, build, test, and maintain user-facing application components, including Power Pages sites, PCF (Power Apps Component Framework) controls, and custom pages within model-driven applications
- Develop responsive, accessible user interfaces using TypeScript, JavaScript, HTML, and CSS, integrated with Dataverse and Dynamics 365 as the backend data platform
- Configure Dynamics 365 model-driven applications to meet business requirements, including forms, views, business process flows, business rules, security roles, and application navigation
- Perform functional configuration of Dynamics 365 Customer Service capabilities, including case management, queues, routing, and service level agreements
- Design and maintain Dataverse solution components, including data models, relationships, business rules, security roles, and solution layering
- Build and maintain automated business processes and integrations using Power Automate and REST APIs
- Develop or extend custom plug-ins and API extensions for Dynamics 365 and Dataverse in C# where configuration and low-code approaches do not meet the requirement
- Exercise independent technical judgment in determining the appropriate implementation approach for assigned applications, including selecting between configuration, low-code, and custom code based on maintainability, supportability, and long-term platform impact
- Work within established application lifecycle management practices, including managed solution deployment, environment promotion, and Azure DevOps source control and release pipelines
- Independently diagnose and resolve defects across applications, configurations, integrations, and automated processes, determining root cause and corrective approach with minimal direction
- Participate in technical design discussions and peer code reviews, and contribute to development standards and best practices
- Collaborate with business analysts, business division staff, and vendor delivery teams to translate requirements into working solutions
- Develop and maintain technical documentation, configuration records, and standard operating procedures
- Collaborate across SCC divisions to deliver solutions on time and within scope
- Monitor technology and security trends relevant to Dynamics 365, the Power Platform, and modern web development
- Perform related work as required
